Senior role within the Middle Office team located in Edinburgh.  As a Post Trade Compliance Specialist, you will support the Operations team in India on a daily basis.

You will be able to integrate subject matter and industry expertise within Compliance Monitoring. You will be expected to gain an in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and business.

You should be able to evaluate moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information.

Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required.

Regularly assumes leadership role within the team and will also work closely with the offshore counterparts to establish global operating models and processes.

Additionally, this role involves providing cross-functional support to the onshore Client Reporting team. The successful candidate will undergo targeted training to understand Client Reporting workflows, enabling them to provide critical operational coverage during holidays, sickness, and peak periods to ensure business continuity.

What you'll do

  • Client Relationship Management: Maintaining excellent relationships with clients (internal and external), communicating with them in a professional, clear, and concise manner, meeting all deadlines.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Maintain a continuous in-depth regulatory knowledge, keeping abreast of all updates to UCITS/AIFMD and other such regulations affecting the funds industry.
  • Offshore Collaboration: Collaboratively working with our offshored service provider through weekly and monthly service calls and review meetings.
  • Business Onboarding: Lead & support the implementation of new business and coordinate the onboarding of new clients, processes, and solutions within the team/department.
  • Issue Resolution: Work with internal support teams and external parties to resolve any outstanding client issues.
  • SLA Monitoring: Ensure agreed service levels commitments are monitored and tracked, and any issues identified are escalated to the relevant parties and followed through to resolution.
  • Compliance Support: Supporting the operations team in providing a high-quality service to ensure that clients comply with the investment guidelines and relevant regulatory rules.
  • Risk & Control: Identify control deficiencies and implement appropriate procedures and solutions to mitigate any risk or control losses.
  • Project Reporting: Regular reporting of projects & initiatives progress, next steps, accomplishments, or issues.
  • Stakeholder Cooperation: Tight cooperation with internal/external technology teams and Investment Restriction Monitoring teams.
  • Process Efficiency: Identify opportunities to create efficiencies and reduce expenses. Provide value-added perspective or advice that contributes to the development of new techniques related to the process, and the improvement of workflow for the function.
  • Cross-Functional Support (Client Reporting): Undergo training to support the onshore Client Reporting team, providing essential operational cover during staff holidays, sickness, or other absence periods to maintain seamless service delivery.

What we'll need from you

 Qualifications / Experience:

  • Relevant, extensive years in Compliance Monitoring or other similar financial services related experience
  • Good technical knowledge of financial instruments and investment strategies
  • In-depth understanding of European fund regulations

Education / Skills:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • Relevant Funds industry qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of all MS Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel PowerPoint)

  • Ability to multitask with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral & written including confidence in dealing with clients and internal parties at all levels
