About the role:

Morningstar DBRS's Global Sovereign Ratings Group is seeking an experienced sovereign credit analyst to join our team as an Assistant Vice President, based in Frankfurt or Madrid.
 

You will work within a collaborative international team that assesses the creditworthiness of sovereign governments, supranational institutions, and government-related entities. The role involves conducting credit analysis, producing rating reports and research, and engaging with issuers, government officials, and other market participants.

We are looking for a motivated and intellectually curious professional with a strong interest in economics, public policy, politics, and financial markets, and the ability to identify and assess emerging credit risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Assigning, reviewing, and monitoring credit ratings, including formulating rating opinions and producing topical research.
  • Participating in the development of rating methodologies.
  • Developing and maintaining analytical tools and reports for internal and external use.
  • Monitoring institutional, political, geopolitical, and economic developments that impact public sector issuers.
  • Meeting with issuers, investors, and other market participants to discuss Morningstar DBRS ratings and research.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in sovereign, supranational, or other public sector credit analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Additional language skills, particularly Spanish, Italian, or French, are a plus.

Base Salary Compensation Range

EUR 69,000.00-104,466.66

Bonus Target:

20% Annual

We expect the compensation and target bonus for this role to fall within the stated range. The specific compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
