Title and Summary

Director, Product Management

OVERVIEW
Mastercard is seeking a product growth leader to accelerate adoption, usage, and market impact of Value-Added Services (VAS) across the APAC Merchant Cloud portfolio. The role is focused on taking existing and newly launched payment gateway and payment processing capabilities to market, translating them into clear customer use cases, repeatable growth motions, and measurable merchant and acquirer outcomes.
The Director will own the product growth agenda for VAS across APAC, working across Product, Sales, Account Management, Customer Success, Services, and market teams to convert product readiness into adoption at scale. The role requires someone who understands how payment gateways, PSPs, acquirers, and processing platforms operate, and who has hands-on experience driving go-to-market, enablement, usage growth, and customer adoption in complex payments environments.
The role aligns with Merchant Cloud’s shift from gateway processing to a broader growth and optimization platform, where value is created through services such as Tokenization, Authentication, recurring payment optimization, and other emerging merchant optimization capabilities. The focus is to build repeatable product growth motions that increase penetration, utilization, and revenue across existing and new customers.

ROLE
Own APAC Product Growth Strategy for VAS
• Define and execute the APAC product growth strategy for Merchant Cloud VAS capabilities.
• Translate existing and new products into market-ready use cases, customer narratives, sales plays, and adoption motions.
• Drive penetration and usage of Tokenization, Authentication, recurring payment optimization, and emerging VAS offerings.
• Develop annual product growth plans by market, customer segment, vertical, and product capability.
• Identify whitespace across existing gateway, PSP, acquirer, and merchant portfolios where VAS can improve performance or unlock new revenue.
Drive Product Go-to-Market, Adoption & Usage Growth
• Establish adoption targets, usage metrics, activation milestones, and revenue goals for each VAS capability.
• Build product-led GTM plans that define target customers, use cases, value propositions, qualification criteria, enablement needs, and launch sequencing.
• Create repeatable cross-sell, upsell, and expansion motions across existing Merchant Cloud customers.
• Partner with sales and account teams to improve product attach rates, but own the product narrative, adoption logic, and enablement required to scale.
• Track funnel health from market readiness to customer activation, integration, go-live, utilization, and expansion.
Merchant & Acquirer Optimization Programs
• Develop consultative programs focused on payment optimization
• Quantify business outcomes and ROI for strategic customers.
• Create value realization frameworks and executive reporting for key accounts.
Lead Strategic Product Growth Engagements
• Act as the product growth lead for priority VAS opportunities across strategic merchants, PSPs, gateways, and acquirers.
• Shape customer conversations around business outcomes, payment performance, and adoption pathways rather than product features alone.
• Work with major customers to map current payment flows, identify performance gaps, and define adoption roadmaps for relevant Merchant Cloud capabilities.
• Bring market and customer feedback back into global product teams to influence prioritization, roadmap clarity, and readiness for scale.
Build a Regional Product Growth Engine
• Create APAC-wide product playbooks, enablement assets, customer qualification guides, adoption trackers, and value realization frameworks.
• Develop vertical-specific growth motions for target verticals
• Enable market teams to independently position, qualify, launch, and scale VAS solutions.
• Create feedback loops from market execution to product roadmap, pricing, packaging, integration readiness, and customer success priorities.
Partner Across Mastercard
• Collaborate across Global Product, Digital, Services, Account Management, Business Development, Country Teams, Customer Success, and other relevant stakeholders to align product readiness, market execution, and customer adoption.

ALL ABOUT YOU
• 10+ years in payments, fintech, payment gateways, payment processing, acquiring, PSPs, orchestration.
• Strong experience in product growth, product go-to-market, customer adoption, solution scaling, or product commercialization within a gateway or payment processing business.
• Proven ability to take existing or newly launched products to market, build adoption plans, create customer narratives, and drive usage across complex B2B payments ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of:
o Payment gateway and processing models
o Merchant Acquiring
o PSP / Gateway ecosystems
• Demonstrated success driving adoption, utilization, and revenue growth at scale.
• Experience working across multiple APAC markets and navigating local market, regulatory, technical, and customer readiness differences.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders across Product, Sales, Customer Success, Services, market teams, and global product organizations.
