Original job description

Amazon's Transportation network moves billions of packages annually, and fill rate - how fully we utilize every container and load - is one of the most critical levers in our cost structure. We're looking for a Finance Manager who is curious about how network design decisions drive fill rate outcomes, and motivated to turn that understanding into better planning, sharper reporting, and actionable insights.
What makes this role different
This isn't a passive reporting seat. You'll be the connective tissue between network design decisions and their financial consequences. Fill rate spans physics, network topology, and sort execution - you'll need to understand all of it well enough to build plans the business trusts and surface insights that change how we operate. The data is massive, the stakeholders are senior, and your work shows up in real loads moving through the network.
You'll thrive here if you
- Are a self-starter who proactively builds relationships to get the information you need (not waiting to be told whom to call)
- Are genuinely curious and willing to learn - you'd rather walk a sort center than read a summary about fill rate
- Take ownership of your metrics and treat gaps to plan as problems to solve, not just variances to report
- Can translate complex operational dynamics into clear financial narratives for senior leadership
- See your role as a thought partner that drives action - programs launched, glidepaths achieved, clawback captured
- View AI as a tool to ask better questions and build scalable reporting
