DESCRIPTION:
Support commercial excellence and client success as a key member of our Sales Operations team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. You'll coordinate cross-functional processes to ensure thorough execution of contract proposals, budget modifications, and client deliverables while supporting our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Work with global teams to analyze client requirements, determine optimal resource allocation, and deliver high-value solutions within required timelines. Apply analytical skills and financial knowledge to develop compelling proposals that reflect our value proposition and support business growth.

Position Summary

The Sales Operations Analyst II plays a critical role in delivering scalable, insight-driven analytics to support commercial decision-making for sales teams.

This role partners closely with sales reps to answer daily questions, prepare business reviews, and provides our customers with details about their orders. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with business acumen, moving beyond reporting to drive measurable business impact through structured analysis and storytelling. This position will have to be flexible to work the US hours.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics & Insight Generation

  • Analyze commercial, customer, and revenue data to identify trends, opportunities, and performance drivers
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches and actionable insights
  • Support performance measurement, forecasting, and business planning initiatives

Reporting & Visualization

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions (Power BI)
  • Ensure consistency and standardization of metrics across reporting environments
  • Deliver executive-ready visualizations and insights

Data Management & Quality

  • Partner with data engineering teams to ensure data availability and integrity
  • Contribute to scalable, reusable datasets and analytics frameworks

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Act as a trusted analytical partner to sales and commercial leaders
  • Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Continuous Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve workflows
  • Apply structured problem-solving and PPI methodologies to improve processes
  • Evolve analytics from descriptive to diagnostic and prescriptive insights

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Build and maintain recurring dashboards (daily/weekly/monthly reporting)
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to support commercial decision-making
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on analytics needs
  • Monitor performance metrics and refine definitions as business needs evolve

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics or commercial analytics
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • SQL (joins, CTEs, transformations)
    • Power BI (DAX, Power Query, dashboard design)
    • Cognos (Report Studio)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
