Senior Commercial Development Manager
This role is responsible for accelerating commercial growth across the APJ region through a combination of direct customer engagement and strategic distributor partner management. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our distributor network to identify opportunities, develop joint growth strategies, and expand our presence in the Quality Control, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, and Toxicology testing markets.

As Sr Manager, Sales Development at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll guide strategic business development initiatives while managing sales teams across our innovative portfolio. You'll support revenue growth through new customer acquisition and existing account expansion, implementing effective go-to-market strategies that align with our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. This role combines leadership, strategic planning, and sales execution to deliver strong results in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic markets. You'll collaborate across divisions to identify opportunities, develop comprehensive sales strategies, and build lasting customer relationships that drive mutual success.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Bachelors degree plus 8 years of proven sales experience in Life Sciences, Clinical Diagnostics, Business, or a related discipline.
- Preferred Fields of Study: Life Sciences, Business, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
- Extensive commercial experience in the clinical diagnostics, life sciences, or medical technology industries, with a strong focus on Quality Control, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM), Toxicology, or related specialty testing.
- Demonstrated success selling solutions to clinical laboratories, reference laboratories, hospital laboratories, and other testing laboratory environments, with a solid understanding of their operational and clinical needs.
- A proven ability to identify new market opportunities, drive business growth, expand market share, and consistently deliver commercial results across complex healthcare markets.
- Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory workflows, diagnostic testing practices, healthcare procurement processes, and the evolving laboratory landscape across the APJ region.
- Experience developing and executing strategic commercial plans, including market analysis, forecasting, performance management, and data-driven decision making.
- Significant experience working through distributor channels, including the recruitment, development, enablement, and performance management of distributor partners. The successful candidate will be adept at building strong channel relationships, driving partner accountability, and executing joint business plans to accelerate growth across diverse APJ markets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of customer organizations as well as effectively engage and motivate distributor partners.
