Join our purpose-driven team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as an HR Manager, you will serve as a trusted HR Business Partner, providing both strategic and hands-on HR support to leaders and employees across multiple client groups. Working closely with business leaders and HR Centers of Excellence, you will strengthen organizational capability, develop leadership, drive employee engagement, and deliver practical HR solutions that enable business success. This role requires sound business acumen, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day operational execution in a dynamic environment. You'll succeed in our collaborative environment where you can leverage your expertise to develop effective HR solutions that support business objectives.


A Day in the Life

  • Partner with business leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into people strategies and actionable HR plans.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by coaching leaders on performance management, organizational design, talent planning, employee relations, change management, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Build organizational capability through succession planning, talent reviews, leadership development, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Lead recruiting efforts for key positions in partnership with Talent Acquisition, including hiring strategies, interview support, and selection decisions.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and resolve complex workplace issues while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to implement enterprise programs including compensation, performance management, learning, talent management, and annual HR processes.
  • Analyze workforce trends and business data to identify opportunities and recommend practical HR solutions.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day HR support including policy interpretation, onboarding, compliance, manager consultation, and operational HR activities.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or HR Generalist experience.
  • Experience supporting leaders in operations, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or another fast-paced environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success coaching leaders, managing employee relations, driving talent acquisition, and supporting organizational change.
  • Ability to balance strategic HR initiatives with operational execution while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong business acumen, influencing, communication, project management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, exercising sound judgment, and working independently in a matrixed environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
