DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Field Applications Scientist to provide technical support and training for our analytical and scientific solutions. In this role, you'll collaborate with sales teams and customers to deliver demonstrations, applications support, and training that enables research and innovation. You'll serve as a scientific advisor, helping customers optimize their workflows and maximize the value of their investments while contributing to our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
Working across multiple technology platforms, you'll provide comprehensive pre- and post-sales technical expertise, conduct product demonstrations, develop new applications, troubleshoot complex issues, and build relationships with customers. Your role will involve working with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, R&D, and product management to ensure customer success and drive business growth through technical excellence.
Technical Expertise
- Provide technical support across current and legacy Thermo Fisher LC-MS systems, associated software and nano, micro and conventional flow HPLC/UHPLC platforms.
- Develop and maintain expertise across multiple application areas including Proteomics, Biopharma Applications.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Advanced degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS instrumentation and associated analytical workflows like Intact, Peptide mapping for large molecules, Oligonucleotides, GLP's.
- Experience developing, troubleshooting and optimising analytical methods.
- Strong scientific problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Thermo Fisher Scientific mass spectrometry platforms and software.
- Experience in one or more of the following application areas listed in Technical Expertise.
- Experience delivering structured training, scientific presentations and technical workshops.
- Experience supporting customers in regulated laboratory environments.
- Stay current with emerging scientific trends, technologies and competitive developments.
- Generate and share technical knowledge, application insights and best practices with customers and internal teams
