What You'll Do
As a Mold Repair Technician, you will maintain and repair precision injection molds to ensure efficient production and high-quality products. Your work will directly impact manufacturing uptime and product quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Repair, troubleshoot, and maintain precision injection molds used in medical device manufacturing.
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize mold performance and minimize downtime.
- Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, and reassemble injection molds.
- Diagnose tooling issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support production and process technicians in resolving mold-related issues.
- Complete work orders and accurately document repairs and preventive maintenance activities in the maintenance system.
- Safely operate tool room equipment including mills, grinders, lathes, and other manual machining equipment.
- Maintain organized tooling storage and a clean, safe tool room environment.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts that enhance tooling reliability and production efficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Three or more years of experience repairing and maintaining injection molds or equivalent tool room experience.
- Experience troubleshooting injection molding tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tooling drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
- Multi-cavity injection molds
- Hot runner systems
- Laser welding
- CNC mills or lathes
- Surface grinding
- Manual milling equipment
- CAD or SolidWorks
- Mastercam
- Mold flow analysis

Work Environment
This position is based in a clean manufacturing environment supporting medical device production. Employees are expected to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including cleanroom requirements and all applicable safety procedures.
The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and working with precision tools and equipment. Occasional lifting of heavy tooling may be required.
