Sanofi's Procurement function is a business-led, data-driven, AI-powered organization managing approximately €15 billion in annual spend. Reporting to the CFO, our Chief Procurement Officer leads five domains — including Digital — with a strong focus on procurement excellence, supplier diversity, and sustainability.

About the Role

As Global Category Manager in Digital Procurement, you will own end-to-end category strategy for Software, IT Services, and Strategic Hardware across all Sanofi entities worldwide. You will lead complex negotiations, manage strategic supplier relationships, deliver best-in-class savings, and drive Sanofi's AI-powered procurement transformation.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Innovation

  • Design and execute competitive category strategies grounded in market intelligence, risk assessment, and long-range business planning

  • Drive supplier market expertise and identify emerging technologies, new suppliers, and service models

  • Contribute to Sanofi's AI-powered procurement transformation ("agentification")

Operations & Delivery

  • Build and maintain a sub-category roadmap with a project and savings pipeline aligned to budget cycles

  • Deliver year-over-year world-class savings targets and optimize Business Operational Impact (BOI)

  • Lead strategic negotiations — globalization programs, harmonization initiatives, and critical supplier escalations

  • Establish risk mitigation plans underpinned by supplier assessments and scorecards

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage senior leaders across Global Business Units and Support Functions to ensure procurement strategies are business-aligned

  • Partner with Country Procurement Heads to translate global strategies at the local level

  • Share market trends, benchmarks, and budget assumptions with key stakeholders

Team Development

  • Coach and develop Global Lead Buyers and Domain team members

  • Foster a culture of procurement excellence, ethics, and continuous improvement

About You

Experience: 15+ years in Procurement or a closely related field, with proven expertise in Digital/IT category management (Software, IT Services, Hardware) at global scale.

Key Skills:

  • Mastery of procurement methodologies: TCO, SRM, Market Intelligence, Risk Management

  • Strong negotiation skills in complex, global contracts

  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven, analytical mindset

  • Exceptional communicator — confident engaging C-suite stakeholders

  • Strong influencing skills across diverse, multicultural teams

  • Solid understanding of business, legal, and operational dimensions (SLAs, KPIs)

  • Experienced navigating complex matrix organizations

  • High ethical standards and commitment to business integrity

Education: Minimum Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

Languages: Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus
