Overview

Are you excited by the challenge of helping Microsoft launch highly strategic, customized commercial offerings quickly and responsibly? As a Senior Finance Manager, you will shape how AI Strategic Deals and specialized launch constructs come to market by driving finance compliance, launch readiness, and scalable governance across a complex, fast-moving business.

You will join the New Commerce Finance Compliance Engagement Team within Microsoft Planning and Launch, partnering closely across Finance, Operations teams, Engineering and Business Development. In this role, you will assess deal and launch requests, identify financial risk, clarify requirements, coordinate finance stakeholder decisions, and help deliver compliant, high-quality launches at scale.

This is a high-visibility opportunity for a finance leader who thrives in ambiguity, can translate bespoke deal mechanics into finance requirements, and wants to improve repeatable processes that support innovation with strong financial integrity.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end finance compliance launch execution for AI Strategic Deals. Serve as the primary finance engagement lead for complex, customized AI commercial arrangements, ensuring finance requirements, accounting implications, launch milestones, and stakeholder approvals are understood and managed from intake through launch readiness.
  • Drive structured intake and deal qualification. Collect and validate the business rationale and non-standard deal construct details so stakeholders have a shared fact base for review. Evaluate whether the deal requires deep finance engagement based on complexity, Business Development arrangements, or other high-risk financial impacts.
  • Translate unique deal mechanics into finance requirements. Partner with finance subject matter experts to develop and refine finance requirements, scenario coverage, and risk-based testing plans that connect commercial intent to expected financial outcomes.
  • Own portfolio health and launch decision quality. Maintain clear status, risks, blockers, decisions, and sign-offs across assigned AI Strategic Deal launches; escalate when scope, timing, or risk requires leadership intervention.
  • Scale the operating model. Improve repeatable engagement templates, decision logs, governance forums, automation, and stakeholder rhythms so the Strategic Deals support model can scale without compromising financial controls.
  • Influence senior stakeholders. Communicate financial implications clearly to business, finance, engineering, and operations leaders; facilitate tradeoff decisions; and help shape finance governance frameworks across cross-functional teams.

  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to product launches, offer management, or commercialization models.
