About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
This is more than a typical technology consulting role. You'll work at the intersection of innovation and public service, helping local government agencies and K-12 schools architect solutions that modernize their operations, improve citizen and student experiences, and achieve mission-critical outcomes. Your ability to understand complex technical challenges and translate them into actionable solutions will help grow our State and Local Government businesses while making a meaningful impact on communities across the region.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and deliver cloud architecture solutions that meet infrastructure and application requirements for State and Local Government customers, incorporating best practices for security, scalability, and performance
- Lead architecture reviews, technical workshops, and proof-of-concept projects that demonstrate innovative cloud solutions and help customers envision transformative possibilities for their organizations
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor by taking the time to understand each customer's unique business context, technology challenges, and long-term goals, then translating those needs into technical requirements
- Collaborate with account teams, professional services, and AWS engineering groups to scope customer engagements with clear objectives, drive timely delivery of value, and ensure customer success throughout their cloud adoption journey
- Educate customers and internal teams by developing and delivering technical content such as presentations, workshops, and best practice guidance, while capturing and sharing knowledge that advances the broader Solutions Architecture community
A day in the life
Your day might begin with an architecture review session with a county IT department exploring modernization options for their legacy systems, followed by leading a hands-on workshop for a city's public safety team. After collaborating with your account team to develop a migration strategy for a K-12 district's on-premises student information system, you'll build a proof-of-concept that demonstrates using AI/ML services to identify at-risk students. You'll wrap up by joining a strategic planning discussion with a city CIO about how cloud technology can drive their smart city and digital government transformation objectives.
About the team
You'll join a collaborative team of Solutions Architects supporting State and Local Government and K-12 customers in Florida, as well as Higher Education customers across Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee, delivering exceptional technical guidance and driving cloud adoption across the public sector.
Our team thrives on the mission-driven nature of our customers, enabling these organizations serving communities and students. We foster continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, and innovation, where each member contributes expertise while growing across multiple domains. As part of AWS, you'll have endless learning opportunities working with cloud technologies shaping the future of government and education.
