This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

Are you a customer-obsessed technical leader with a passion for building high-performing teams and driving business growth? Do you have a background in communication services (email, SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, multi-channel communications, and CPaaS) and experience leading Solutions Architects? Join the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) team as the Sr. Manager, Solutions Architecture for Communication Developer Services (CDS).

CDS includes Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) and AWS End User Messaging — cloud-based services that enable customers to reach their audiences across email, SMS, RCS, push notifications, and WhatsApp for marketing outreach, transactional communications, and customer engagement at scale. As messaging evolves toward conversational and agentic AI — where intelligent agents handle customer interactions, resolve issues, and orchestrate multi-step workflows autonomously across channels — CDS is at the forefront of that transformation. In this role you will lead a globally distributed team of Specialist SAs, set the technical bar for the portfolio, and own and lead key business and technical initiatives to grow the CDS business — from defining the technical go-to-market strategy to launching programs that accelerate adoption and revenue.

Beyond growing your team, you will create, own, and drive business initiatives end-to-end — this role blends people leadership with hands-on business ownership. You will leverage AI to identify patterns across customer engagements and build scalable solutions — playbooks, reference architectures, and automation — that help account teams and customers get to outcomes faster. You will partner closely with sales, business development, marketing, and product management to connect technical strategy to business results.

If you want to lead a world-class SA team while personally shaping the business trajectory of a high-growth portfolio, consider joining CDS — where we help customers realize the full potential of multi-channel communication on AWS.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and grow a worldwide team of Specialist SAs; own hiring, performance, development, and promotion readiness.
- Own and lead key business and technical initiatives — define and execute the CDS technical GTM strategy, launch adoption programs, and drive measurable revenue outcomes.
- Set the technical bar for customer engagements: architecture reviews, proofs of concept, migrations, and scaled enablement for SES and End User Messaging.
- Leverage AI and data to identify patterns across the customer base and build scalable solutions (playbooks, automation, reference architectures) that help account teams and customers get to outcomes faster.
- Collaborate across Product Marketing, Sales, Partner Teams, Business Development, and Business Operations to accelerate the sales cycle.
- Represent customer needs in product roadmaps and drive prioritized feature requests to CDS service teams.
- Help shape the CDS vision for conversational and agentic AI — identifying how intelligent agents and AI-driven workflows can transform how customers communicate across channels, and guiding the SA team to bring those capabilities to life for customers.
- Build the team’s operating rhythm — adoption tracking, technical win/loss reviews, and clear mechanisms that make the impact of SA work visible to leadership and service teams.
