In this role you will work directly with land sellers, landlords, developers, local jurisdictions, attorneys and consultants to identify and secure agreements for multiple projects within a defined territory across the U.S. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills that can successfully navigate complex real estate negotiations to execution. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary internal and external stakeholders to produce outcomes that support sustainable growth for WWGS and enrich the communities in which we expand.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead site identification, engagement, negotiation and execution of agreements, including land acquisitions, build to suit and existing box lease negotiations, and ground leases.
- Manage a varied and evolving real estate portfolio that supports rapid growth plans and strategic projects.
- Embrace a culture of speed, bias for action and frugality with all business partners and leverage AI tools to deliver results.
- Assist in developing site plans that deliver best in class projects consistent with market conditions that maximize profitability for the business.
- Partner with land sellers, landlords, developers and local jurisdictions, and participate in local meetings relating to these projects.
- Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to execute our real estate strategy, including Network Planning, Pre Construction, Design, Finance, Legal, and Construction.
- Build and lead teams of vendors and consultants to evaluate site feasibility and deliver acquisitions.
- This role requires approximately 20% domestic travel within the US.

WWRGD owns the identification, procurement, design, construction, and ongoing management of all physical retail stores in the U.S. and International. In other words, we’re the people who keep the retail portfolio expanding and operating. We support all Whole Foods Market stores and other Amazon retail concepts. The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
