About the role

This position provides manufacturing engineering ownership of integrated and tested assemblies for the Leo satellite program. You will be supporting new satellite assemblies early in the design phase, providing critical design for manufacturability input and supporting testing of these assemblies, while developing and implementing the plan to move from design/test into build/production.
Key job responsibilities
- Design space hardware production processes and production lines
- Experience with equipment design, procurement, installation, and qualification
- Work with supply chain partners to manage critical vendors
- Material flow planning and manufacturing process definition with minimal existing definition
- Ability to support space hardware testing, including tooling design and data analysis
- Assembly, Integration, and Test takt time & cost optimization planning
- Design for Manufacturability review and sign off for design release
- Design and procure tooling to support manufacturing operations
- Troubleshoot production issues in a timely manner
- Work with cross functional teams to solve production issues

A day in the life
This role will require a thorough understanding of electro-mechanical assembly processes, acceptance testing, and issues triage. You will own and coordinate integration work, produce build documentation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure production operations run smoothly. You will strive to produce assemblies for the lowest possible cost and highest possible quality. This will include root causing problems that occur for the assembly to keep builds on schedule while also working on efficiency gains through tooling, automation, or design and process changes. You will work closely with design, tooling, dynamics, thermal, and electrical engineering to deliver on these objectives.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
