Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how Microsoft evaluates, governs, and improves its strategic customer investments. You will translate portfolio data into actionable insights, strengthen ECIF Yield execution, and connect Finance, Deal Desk, CSU, and business stakeholders to improve investment outcomes.

As part of the MACC & Deal Economics team, you will support the Investment Strategy and Portfolio Management function by combining financial rigor, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities to strengthen decision-making, execution accountability, and portfolio performance at scale.

In MCAPS Finance, we’re driving shareholder value in 54 subsidiaries and 120 Sales Locations and carry local accountability for financial, statutory, and compliance matters across Microsoft commercial segments and products. We:

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Investment Strategy and Portfolio Management Lead to translate portfolio performance and stakeholder inputs into actionable insights and leadership-ready recommendations.
  • Own ECIF Yield reporting and execution rhythms, including performance reviews, ROI monitoring, pipeline coverage, executive narratives, and action follow-through.
  • Identify investment risks, opportunities, and performance gaps across Areas, segments, accounts and products, recommending actions to improve investment effectiveness and business outcomes.
  • Drive cross-functional execution with Deal Economics, Deal Desk, CSU, Area Finance, program teams, and analytics partners to strengthen investment accountability and approval-to-yield performance.
  • Support ECIF governance processes, including exception management, fiscal-year rollover, consumption-plan quality, ROI accountability, and post-approval execution monitoring.
  • Lead the adoption of AI-enabled solutions that provide proactive guidance, apply consistent decision principles, surface investment risks, and simplify stakeholder interactions across the investment lifecycle.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to simplify processes, automate workflows, and improve reporting, governance, and stakeholder experiences, reducing operational burden while increasing investment accountability and portfolio visibility.
  • Partner with Finance, Engineering, and Analytics teams to define business and reporting requirements, KPI definitions, business logic, data-validation standards, and user acceptance testing, while developing automated insights, agent-assisted workflows, self-service capabilities, and scalable reporting solutions that improve decision quality, transparency, and execution efficiency.
  • Support the evolution and expansion of Yield frameworks across Copilot and other investment programs, connecting investment allocation with revenue, usage, and execution outcomes.
  • Orchestrate recurring operating rhythms, stakeholder communications, office hours, and execution milestones, ensuring clear ownership, timely delivery, and consistent follow-through.
  • Effectively manage multiple high-impact deliverables and stakeholders under tight timelines, collaborating and influencing across organizations without direct authority.


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • This role follows a hybrid work model and is based in Redmond, Washington OR Atlanta, Georgia. Employees are expected to work on-site in Redmond OR Atlanta on a regular, recurring basis in alignment with business and team needs. 
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.
  • This position involves a considerable amount of exposure to executive and senior management and requires the ability to  communicate ideas and analysis effectively, thereby influencing business decisions, so executive maturity, business acumen and presentation and communication skills need to be your strengths.


Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
