We are looking for a Senior Sports Marketing Specialist who can help shape how Microsoft tells stories across the sports industry through creators, content, and culture. This person has a deep understanding of sports, from the leagues, teams, and creators driving conversation to the business and technology trends transforming the industry. They know how to identify compelling stories of transformation, uncover unique angles, and develop content programs that showcase how Microsoft’s products and platforms are helping sports organizations innovate, operate, connect with audiences, and perform on and off the field.
Working closely with Microsoft’s Strategic Partnerships & Creative teams, in this role you will transform partnership access, industry relationships, and real-world customer innovation into creator-led storytelling, content programs, and experience that resonate with business decision markers and industry audiences. You should be equally comfortable developing content programs, shaping creator & influencer activations, identifying cultural moments, and translating complex technology into stories that are engaging, relevant, and easy to understand. The ideal candidate for this role combines a passion for sports with strong creative instincts, experience with influencers, creators, and content production, and a knack for making technology tangible through authentic storytelling.

Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Microsoft’s Strategic Partnerships team to identify and develop influencer and content production opportunities leveraging creators, athletes, leagues, teams, and cultural moments which maximize the impact of Microsoft’s sports investments and industry relationships
- Create and execute end-to-end creator programs that transform sports partnerships, customer success stories, and industry innovation into compelling storytelling for business and industry audiences.
- Design integrated content programs in partnership with Microsoft’s creative team that connect sports, content, social, and community engagement with business goals, audience growth, and measurable impact.
- Partner with creative, paid media, and product teams to translate complex technology solutions into culturally relevant content executions resonating with sports and business audiences.
- Lead cross-functional agency execution across strategy, creative development, talent management, production, media, and live-event activations.
- Drive project management across internal teams, agencies, talent, rights holders, platforms, and production partners.
- Track performance and capture learnings that inform future sports, creator, and commercial storytelling opportunities.
- Deep understanding of sports culture, fandom, creator ecosystems, and how audiences engage across digital platforms and communities
- Translate complex topics into engaging and accessible content through communication, storytelling, and creative briefing skills
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience as a creative or content strategist at a technology company with partnerships or business in the sports industry, including work with leagues, teams, rights holders, broadcasters, sports media companies, brands, or sports-focused agencies
- Commercial marketing experience developing and executing integrated marketing programs that span content, creators, social, community, and paid media channels for technology and B2B audiences.
- Commercial marketing experience working with creators, influencers, talent, athletes, partners, or agencies to deliver marketing programs aligned with technology and B2B audiences.
- Experience managing multiple cross-functional projects and stakeholders simultaneously, including agency and vendor management
- Understanding of modern marketing principles, including audience strategy, paid amplification, performance measurement, and full-funnel campaign planning
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution
- Experience developing content programs around major sporting events, tentpole moments, live experiences, sponsorships, or partnership activations
- Experience creating branded content, creator-led storytelling, or integrated content programs that drive measurable business outcomes with commercial audiences
Integrated Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
