As a Principal Technical Program Manager on our team, you will have a direct and clear impact on our products and customers. In this role, you will work closely with talented engineering and data science teams, collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across MCAPS-Core, and have the opportunity to define our sovereign cloud support strategy and manage our customer care products in all new clouds.
Our work has high visibility with the Azure leadership team and ample opportunities to share our successes and receive support and guidance from them. The scope of responsibilities includes:
• Driving broad initiatives across MCAPS-Core
• Distilling customer (internal and external) scenarios and challenges into clear, concise requirements for engineering
• Creating product/feature specifications with visual and written designs
• Engaging with partner teams across MCAPS-Core and Microsoft and influencing them to drive alignment on strategies and roadmaps
• Maintaining excellent stakeholder engagement and communication channels

Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Lead product and business strategy by leveraging customer insights, market research, telemetry, AI-driven analysis, and industry trends to identify opportunities, define complex problem statements, and prioritize investments.
- Drive strategic planning and roadmap development by validating hypotheses, evaluating tradeoffs, and aligning product direction with customer needs, business objectives, and Microsoft strategy.
- Influence product, service, and solution decisions through stakeholder engagement, business case development, and ROI analysis to maximize customer and business impact.
Technical Program Leadership & Solution Design
- Define program goals, success metrics, and execution strategies for complex products, services, and technical initiatives.
- Design and coordinate integrated technical solutions in partnership with Engineering, Security, Design, Marketing, and business stakeholders.
- Manage program risks, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs while ensuring alignment across multiple teams and organizational priorities.
Cross-Functional Execution & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end execution and delivery of complex cross-functional programs, driving planning, implementation, release management, and operational readiness.
- Coordinate stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Security, Marketing, and business teams to deliver scalable, customer-focused solutions.
- Leverage AI, automation, and program management best practices to improve efficiency, accelerate delivery, and optimize program outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, accessibility, governance, and Responsible AI requirements throughout the lifecycle of program delivery.
Performance, Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Drive product and program success through KPI measurement, telemetry analysis, experimentation, and data-driven decision making.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through root-cause analysis and operational reviews to improve product quality, reliability, and supportability.
- Partner with stakeholders to optimize customer adoption, satisfaction, operational excellence, and business performance.
- Evangelize solutions and insights to customers, partners, and internal teams while contributing to readiness, enablement, and adoption strategies.
- Use data, customer feedback, and business outcomes to continuously improve products, programs, and organizational impact.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data analytics and related technologies, including Kusto (Azure Data Explorer), SQL, ETL technologies, machine learning (ML), and PowerBI.
- Proven ability to lead through ambiguity while partnering across organizations
- Demonstrated ability to come up-to-speed quickly on a new technical domain
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
