Key job responsibilities
Amazon Stores Agent
-Own and scale the Amazon Stores Agent on Alexa+ enabled Echo Family Devices — launching agentic store actions that let customers complete multi-step tasks across Registries, Payments, Subscribe & Save, Addresses, Orders, and Returns by gathering what's needed through natural conversation and completing the steps on their behalf.
-Drive the program from its first actions to a customer-complete experience, holding a high task-completion bar and standing up the shared foundations — routing, evaluation, and API integration — so customers finish whole tasks hands-free and new actions ship faster over time.
Horizontal Program Leadership
-Define and own a portfolio of very large programs that cut across Alexa Shopping teams and organizations, beginning with the Amazon Stores Agent, decomposing ambiguous, org-level goals into clear workstreams that teams can execute independently.
-Anticipate future needs and stand up new horizontal initiatives before they become blockers, defining the problem, scope, success criteria, and ownership where none exist.
-Remediate critical, endemic problems that recur across teams, driving alignment among engineering, science, and product leaders on shared priorities, sequencing, and trade-offs.
Mechanisms, Metrics & Standards
-Create, optimize, and drive adoption of the metrics, reviews, and operating mechanisms that make horizontal programs measurable and durable, designed to keep succeeding with and without your involvement.
-Establish standards and best practices — including quality automation and shift-left practices that run alongside every developer, generating and executing the right tests across devices, endpoints, and geographies before a change ships — that teams across the org adopt and emulate.
-Track and communicate program health, delivery milestones, technical risks, and resource constraints to senior leadership; be the person escalations are brought to, and show excellent judgment in driving executive-level escalations.
Cross-Organizational Influence
-Build durable partnerships with peer teams across VP organizations and business lines to land programs that require coordination beyond any single org, acting as a force multiplier rather than a single-threaded doer.
-Identify risks and opportunities in technical strategies, architectures, and engineering organization structures, and influence system owners, investment, and technology direction for agentic AI systems.
-Represent complex decisions, difficult trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly, both verbally and in writing, to leaders up to three levels above, helping them understand the decisions they need to make and the options they have.
Community & Talent
-Amplify your impact by educating the TPM and engineering communities on program-management best practices, and by sharing knowledge at internal conferences and community events.
-Mentor TPMs across the organization, help managers guide their teams' career growth, and contribute to Principal TPM promotion assessments and talent reviews.
-Actively recruit for Amazon and raise the bar in the hiring and interview process.
