Summary

We are seeking a Director of Commercial Litigation to lead Apple’s complex commercial cases,
including securities, real estate, supply chain, and tax and treasury cases, spanning both
offensive and defensive efforts. In this role you will work closely with senior business and
engineering leaders to ensure Apple’s interests are protected. Your role will require you to think
strategically about commercial risks, and to advise on related matters worldwide.In this role you
will be expected to define and implement strategies, manage risk through proactive efforts,
partner with business partners, mentoring and develop the litigation team that supports
commercial litigation, and manage outside counsel.

Description

Experience leading a high-performing team overseeing a commercial litigation docket, and
providing strategic oversight to align with organizational goals.
• Development and execution of commercial litigation strategies that protect Apple’s interests
across hardware, software, services, and emerging technologies.
• Provide strategic direction for commercial litigation in alignment with evolving business and
legal risks.
• Serve as the senior leader for engagement with outside counsel and manage commercial
litigation efforts.
• Advance inclusion and diversity initiatives across Apple and the legal profession.

Minimum Qualifications

JD degree
• 15+ years of relevant experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department, with at
least 3 years in a people leadership role.
• At least 10 years’ experience leading and managing cases involving securities litigation.

Preferred Qualifications

Deep subject matter expertise leading and managing litigation cases across real estate,
supply chain, tax and treasury, and other related commercial matters.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to balance risk management and value creation in high-
stakes, fast-paced environments.
• Proven ability to partner and communicate effectively at a senior executive level, synthesizing
complex legal and technical information for cross-functional leadership.
• Demonstrated track record of leading, developing, mentoring and supporting the development
of attorney team members.
• Experience partnering with external stakeholders and industry groups to advocate for
balanced commercial dispute law and policy.
• Experience managing cross-border legal issues and collaborating with global teams and
colleagues.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $259,900 and $416,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
