Commercial Engineering & AI (CEAI) partners closely with stakeholders across Microsoft Commercial Business (MCB) to accelerate the transformation of Microsoft’s commercial business into a frontier organization. We bring together AI‑native engineering, modern platforms, and deep commercial insight to reimagine how work gets done - at scale and with impact.
The Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (BI COE) within CEAI is seeking a leader to drive strategic and tactical outcomes across our Commercial Business. You will lead a high-impact team delivering business intelligence solutions that empower our business partners, leveraging the latest Microsoft technologies—including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Cowork and more. You will be at the forefront of transforming the BI experience with an AI-first approach, keeping data integrity, quality, and consistency central to our mission: the right data, at the right time, with one source of truth for Commercial Business decision making.
What success looks like in this role
- Raise the delivery bar. Set the standard for how business insights & reporting land with agility so Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) leaders can monitor business performance with confidence.
- Build strategic partnerships. Build relationships across MCAPS business stakeholder teams that align reporting and data insights to their business priorities.
- Sales strategy+Data. Deeply understand the MCAPS sales priorities and Go To Market (GTM) motions and connect the dots to the data and business perf insights that support them.
- AI-first. Challenge the norm for how data, business insights & reports/dashboards are built and consumed with an AI-native approach.
- Customer Zero. Drive a tight & strategic product feedback loop with the Fabric Product Groups team based on our Customer Zero experience and needs.
- Lead & Inspire. Own team growth and development, AI upskilling and performance management.
Responsibilities
- Lead the BI Center of Excellence (COE) team in delivering agile and trusted data, reporting and business insights to MCB business stakeholders via platforms like MSXi, Copilot, Cowork, Scout etc.
- Own and drive the strategic vision and delivery roadmap for the MSX Insights (MSXi) PowerBI platform that delivers business performance insights that drive $200B+ of commercial revenue.
- Direct teams to accelerate the BI delivery lifecycle with AI and optimize the associated cost structure (vendor spend)
- Own governance and portfolio management across the BI COE organization, ensuring clear prioritization, value realization, and alignment to MCB business priorities & Microsoft data governance & compliance standards.
- Collaborate with other data eng teams to define & implement the optimal MCAPS data arch and governance to deliver trusted and consistent data insights across all agentic surface areas
- Sponsor the Customer Zero partnership and product feedback loop with the Fabric PG team, accelerating feature development and showcasing the organization's AI-driven BI leadership — including to external customers and industry.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 6+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, Economics or related field AND 8+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis OR
- Equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years people management experience.
- Experience leading Data Analytics and/or Business Insights teams.
- Experience with Fabric, PowerBI and/or equivalent data platforms.
Business Analytics M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $155,800 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,400 - $303,600 per year.
