About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
Our Serviceability team owns serviceability excellence across AWS's global data center fleet. We set and maintain the preventive-maintenance (PM) standards, critical-spares strategy, and operational readiness testing programs for the electrical, controls, mechanical, and generator infrastructure that keeps AWS data centers online. We operate on a Global Process Owner (GPO) model: each Technical Program Manager owns a global program end-to-end — defining the maintenance standard, driving it through a gated review-and-approval lifecycle, and stewarding it globally across every AWS region. We turn field data into standardized, data-driven maintenance decisions that reduce risk, extend asset life, and lower cost at fleet scale.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of infrastructure, software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate is able to:
• Own operational relationships with support teams, internal operations business partners, and cross-organizational stakeholders to drive increased performance.
• Demonstrate analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and set program goals.
• Effectively interact and collaborate with customers, project sponsors, technical product managers, and multiple internal teams, and drive cross-organizational consensus to define and deliver complex solutions.
• Proactively recognize and drive opportunities to simplify and standardize processes across the program.
• Own the technical standard for your program and influence related technical designs.
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
• Lead the effective and efficient delivery of large, complex technical projects and programs.
• Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, own the decision, and unblock the path forward when consensus cannot be reached.
• Identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks across the program and its execution network.
• Create, maintain, and disseminate program information to stakeholders, and report program health to leadership on a regular cadence.
• Travel up to 25%.
A day in the life
On a typical day, you will:
• Work with partner teams to ensure MV related program deliverables are developed, maintained and integrated into CMMS.
• Drive MV program through its full lifecycle — develop, execute, manage, and report.
• Own the MV program's annual goal and reporting cadence.
• Manage stop-work escalations and issues affecting MV execution; make the call and unblock the path when consensus cannot be reached.
• Partner with regional SMEs and vendors to scale MV execution while pursuing standardized solutions.
