Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience
- 3+ years of industrial controls and automation experience, or Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent
- Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading, interpreting, and executing electrical schematics and drawings (IEC standards preferred)
- 1 year of Familiarity with work tracking systems (JIRA, Salesforce, etc.)
Preferred
- Degree or certificate in a related field
- Minimum 5 years working in a manufacturing environment, using basic hand and power tools
- including PCs, PLCs, IP networking, sensors, fieldbus, PID controllers, etc.
- Experience with motor wiring, commissioning, tuning, and troubleshooting including Variable Frequency Drives and Servo Control
- Experience in electrical control layout design and schematic
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, and UL508A
- Knowledge of industrial automation programming – ladder, structured text, HMI
- Cross-organizational communication

A day in the life
The Controls Technician will work closely with mechanical and controls engineering teams to implement industrial automation and control equipment for the success of Amazon Leo

About the team
The Amazon Leo Tooling Operations (ALTO) team provides on site expert technical support focused in the fields of Control Systems Builds, Welding, Machining, Metal Fabrication, Laser Tracking, Precision Assembly and DFM.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
