  • Experience with partitioning, connection management, major-version upgrades, and MySQL plugins and storage engines.
  • Experience planning and executing database migrations, including schema conversion, data movement, cutover, rollback planning, and performance validation

AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain expertise who can address advanced technical concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO), SSAs work with customers to solve complex challenges that require expert knowledge. They design scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures to address those challenges.

We are looking for a MySQL expert to be our next SSA specializing in Aurora MySQL to help customers architect, migrate, optimize, and operate MySQL workloads on Amazon Aurora and Amazon RDS. You will work directly with customer engineers and technology leaders to design well-architected production systems for demanding workloads. You will represent the voice of the customer, sharing feedback with the Aurora service team to influence feature development and the product roadmap. You will provide advanced technical expertise to domain-aligned GTM teams, helping them address customers' most complex and critical business challenges. You will share best practices through blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and speaking engagements at AWS Summits, AWS re:Invent, and other events. You will also help build and support an internal AWS community of technical subject matter experts around the world.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
