Amazon Flex is a global business unit whose mission is to enable fast delivery speeds and absorb variability in the business, at any time of year through scalable, innovative, and low-cost operations using independent contractor Delivery Partners (DPs). The Amazon Flex business was built to support Amazon’s growth and meet customer expectations for fast deliveries across all Amazon supported businesses. The program gives Delivery Partners the opportunity to earn money by delivering packages to Amazon customers.

The Flex Offer Journey org, owns the complete DP journey to find and acquire work, from new drivers excitedly searching for their first Flex Offer to seasoned top-tier drivers searching for specific offers that meet their personal criteria for location, day, price, and duration.

Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
• Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

A day in the life
A developer will start their day by checking various systems (e-mail, slack, etc.) for any unique items that require immediate attention. They attend our sync meeting each day, providing an update on their status and requesting any needed help. Throughout the day they will work to advance their assigned deliverables. They will attend meetings that require their input and expertise to help steer and plan future work.

The Flex Offers Journey (FOJ) team owns the data and systems that supports vending millions of offers decisions made across our world wide network each day. We are a team that is passionate about understanding the impact these decisions make on the Flex product for our Delivery Partners and the broader gig ecosystem. Our team is highly collaborative and supportive of one another, understanding that we all succeed by lifting one another.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
