In this role, you will be the bridge between business intent and system behavior — owning the logic layer that determines how charges are captured, how claims are constructed, and how payer rules are applied.
This is a high-impact role as you will impact every bill that goes out. You will transform a legacy way of working by injecting a savvy data and systems skill set, backed by Amazon's engineering resources, customer obsession culture, and a leadership team that believes financial accuracy is the foundation of a sustainable healthcare business.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with billing operations, finance, and clinical stakeholders to understand complex billing requirements and translate them into scalable, logical functional specifications that power the billing engine
- Define and maintain billing rules, payer-specific configurations, and charge logic that drive accurate claim generation
- Use data analysis to identify billing defects, revenue leakage patterns, and configuration gaps — prioritize work by financial impact, not squeaky-wheel urgency
- Build and maintain reporting and monitoring to validate system behavior and catch issues proactively. Maintain documentation of business rules, configuration decisions, and system dependencies
- Identify opportunities to replace manual workflows with systematic, rules-based automation — reducing human error and accelerating throughput
- Design scalable processes that accommodate new service lines, payer contracts, and business models without bespoke rework
- Work with engineering to ensure requirements are implementable, testable, and maintainable; participate in design discussions and QA validation

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
