Original job description

Content provided by the employer

Are you a senior technology leader who operates at the intersection of deep infrastructure and AI expertise and executive-level Energy business strategy? Do you want to shape how the world's most ambitious Energy companies build AI-accelerated workflows in the cloud? We're looking for someone who can do both — and continue to build a world-class team while doing it.

As the Senior Manager of Solutions Architecture for Energy & Utilities, you will lead an elite team of Solutions Architects who excel at industry transformation with broad Energy and Utilities domain depth, and deep AWS services expertise. Your team partners with AWS's regional sales organization to accelerate adoption, but your personal impact extends far beyond: you will be a trusted technical advisor in C-suite conversations, helping customers architect for AI and Cloud at scale and connecting infrastructure decisions to business outcomes.

Reporting directly to the Global Solution Architecture for Energy and Utilities Leader, you will own the regional strategy for resource investment, customer engagement priorities, and technical adoption across current and emerging services. You will influence AWS's global product roadmap by amplifying the voice of our most strategic customers — and you will build, coach, and retain a high-performing team of elite technical leaders who set the standard for customer obsession and technical excellence.

A key dimension of this role is helping customers understand how AWS foundational services underpin and enable AI/ML transformation — ensuring infrastructure readiness, performance optimization, and security posture as customers scale their AI ambitions.

Key job responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Build, coach, and retain a team of Solutions Architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence, customer obsession, and continuous learning
- Drive performance management, hiring, and team member career growth

- Develop and execute technical strategy for major Energy accounts
- Partner with Sales to align solutions with customer objectives
- Act as a trusted technical advisor in C-suite discussions, helping customers navigate complex infrastructure modernization and transformation initiatives
- Lead complex engagements across content production, broadcast, streaming, gaming, and sports analytics
- Set the technical bar for the team and create development paths that grow deep domain experts into broader technical leaders
Technical Leadership & Innovation
- Guide digital and AI transformation initiatives including cloud migration and content delivery optimization
- Work with AWS energy teams on feature prioritization and roadmap development
- Support executive briefings and technical deep-dive sessions
Industry Impact & Development
- Guide the development of whitepapers, reference architectures, and customer-facing content that shares best practices across the domain areas
- Identify patterns in customer needs across the region to inform product priorities, especially at the intersection of core infrastructure and AI/ML workloads
- Represent AWS in executive-level discussions, public speaking engagements, industry events, and written content that demonstrates how AWS infrastructure delivers customer value
