Amazon's Joining Amazon & Contingency Services (JACS) team ensures a safe and trustworthy workplace by managing comprehensive pre- and post-employment verification programs. Our Citizenship Verification program supports eligibility requirements for security-restricted programs across multiple countries — and we're looking for a detail-oriented HR Specialist to join us.

As an HR Specialist on this team, you will own verification requests end-to-end — delivering results within tight timelines and handling sensitive employee information with the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality. You will earn the trust of business partners through proactive communication and consistent follow-through.

This role requires more than processing cases. You will navigate ambiguous scenarios that demand strong judgment, identify opportunities to improve how we work, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen our programs. Your ability to balance speed with accuracy while handling sensitive information is critical.

This team is known for delivering accurate results, every time. You'll fit here if you hold yourself to a high standard, take ownership of outcomes, and focus on making the experience seamless for every employee and stakeholder you support.

U.S. citizenship is required for this role.

Key job responsibilities
• Own verification requests end-to-end — from intake through resolution — ensuring every case is handled with accuracy and within established service-level agreements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in verification requirements and business needs, ensuring systems and processes are continuously developed in line with program demands.
• Navigate ambiguous or complex verification scenarios requiring independent judgment, escalating cases as appropriate.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for business stakeholders on case status, process questions, and escalations — proactively communicating before being asked.
• Maintain accurate case records and audit trail integrity, handling sensitive personal information with the highest standards of confidentiality.
• Identify, recommend and support process improvements, contribute to operational reporting, and update Standard Operating Procedures to reflect current requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support onboarding of new programs or customers as verification requirements expand.

A day in the life
You will work independently to manage a queue of verification requests, where following established processes accurately is essential to every case. You will balance thoroughness with speed to consistently meet service-level agreements. Each case also requires strong judgment — knowing when to move forward, when to dig deeper, and when to escalate. You will communicate outcomes to employees and the appropriate stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in every interaction. The work is fast-paced and detail-oriented, and you'll bring a high bar for the experience you deliver.

Together, we're building systems and processes that support employees and strengthen our organization's integrity.
