Overview

Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind one of the World’s largest Cloud Infrastructures, responsible for powering all Microsoft online Products and Services as well as powering Microsoft’s “Cloud First” mission. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide, and we are looking for a Datacenter Site Due Diligence (SDD) Design Manager to help achieve our mission and to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.  

The Datacenter Site Due Diligence Design Manager  will manage the engineering scope, schedule, and budget for greenfield and brownfield sites, with a focus on site due diligence, site selection, and early grading design.  This position will manage internal and external resources for the delivery of the datacenter building, including master planning, feasibility studies, early works design, and infrastructure planning to align with Microsoft Corporation datacenter capacity roadmap for the Americas.   

The Datacenter Site Due Diligence Design Manager  will be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of Microsoft’s industry-leading datacenter designs, including the development of innovative technology and advanced concepts in site due diligence to be used as the basis for future design. This role will provide design management, technical direction, decision-making and overall leadership for our site due diligence and early works design projects. To be successful in this role, the candidate will oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent SDD and early works projects with a focus on scopes, schedules, and budgets of the projects.  Datacenter Site Due Diligence Design Manager will engage with key MS stakeholder groups within Microsoft, as well as outside vendors who specialize in datacenter architecture and engineering.

Hardware Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
