In this critical, highly visible role, you will have the opportunity to craft the next generation of optical sensing modules for Apple's entire product line. You will manage projects involving the design, integration and launch of innovative optical sensing technologies for world-renowned Apple products. Responsibilities
Define and drive execution of build plans for multiple module integrators and component suppliers.
Serve as the primary lead during module development and advocate for the best module performance throughout the organization.
Responsible for driving optical sensing modules on schedule. Constantly engage in pro-active risk management and communicating status and issues to the development team and Apple executives.
Focus the efforts of the hardware, software, mechanical engineering, and operations teams, bringing their expertise together to design, manufacture, and integrate camera and laser modules for Apple's entire product line.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in STEM field (e.g. EE, ME, Physics, etc.) and +3 years relevant experience
Product development, engineering, or program management experience shipping consumer electronic systems, semiconductor, or other electronic hardware
Curiosity about and familiarity with AI tools—with interest to apply them to improve engineering and program workflows
Ability and willingness to travel internationally (typically once per year; accommodations available as needed)
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant industry experience designing optical sensing hardware or project management relevant experience in a similar field.
Knowledge of optical module design and subcomponents.
Advanced engineering degree
Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills
Confident in delivering technical data with ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience
In-depth technical engineering knowledge to effectively establish and manage project and operational KPIs, assess and drive technical risks, and critically challenge engineering decisions.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $144,600 and $263,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
