This is not a traditional finance role — it's a hybrid that combines end-to-end FBA analytics and how we protect our fee revenue base, heavily powered by AI and automation,
You will own the connection between FBA fee revenue at the shipment level and operational costs across Amazon's fulfillment network — producing the fee-level P&L that tells leadership whether we're happy or sad with FBA economics and that our financial controls are working. You'll also own the GL reconciliation, revenue assurance, and quarterly inspection mechanisms that ensure those numbers are trustworthy. The controllership work is the foundation; the analytics work is the payoff.
This role sits at the intersection of all fee verticals, providing the consolidated profitability view that no single vertical can see alone. You'll partner across FP&A, Fee Strategy, Fee Technology, and Accounting.
The vision: Within 6 months, 80%+ of the controllership inspection work is automated through AI agents and intelligent workflows. Your time shifts from manual reconciliation to proactive anomaly detection, cross-fee profitability analysis, and producing the analytics that shape FBA's fee strategy.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end fee-level P&L: connect FBA revenue (by fee type, ASP band, size tier) to operational costs across the fulfillment network
- Build and maintain AI-powered variance decomposition and profitability reporting across fee activities (Supply Chain, Storage, Selling, Value Recovery)
- Perform key GL reconciliations to ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting across multiple marketplaces
- Design and automate controllership inspection mechanisms — shifting from reactive audit to proactive, AI-driven anomaly detection
- Partner with Fee Strategy, Accounting, and Fee Technology teams to ensure fees are accurate, timely, and aligned with seller communication and internal strategy
- Deliver recurring revenue analytics with proactive signals for leadership; produce cross-fee margin analysis that informs fee strategy decisions
- Build AI agents and automated workflows targeting significant automation of routine controllership inspections — develop repeatable patterns the broader finance team can adopt
- Perform recurring and ad-hoc audits of fee revenues; manage seller transaction adjustments and revenue assurance
- Provide support for external/internal audit inquiries; act as subject matter expert for controllership and FBA profitability analytics
A day in the life
Your morning starts with an AI-generated anomaly report you built — replacing hours of manual reconciliation. You investigate a fee variance, trace it to a calculation edge case, and partner with Fee Tech to resolve it before close. By afternoon, you're building the monthly fee-level P&L, decomposing variances into rate and mix effects, and drafting the narrative for leadership. Between deep dives, you're refining automated workflows that turn weekly controllership checks from multi-hour manual pulls into minutes-with-exceptions. You hold both lenses — "are the numbers right?" and "what do they mean?" — which makes you the person leadership trusts for both.
About the team
You will be joining a high-performing, fast-paced Finance team whose mission is to be the trusted strategic advisor to the business, driving profitable growth and scale through innovation. Is a highly visible role within the finance team and requires a strong leader and open communicator. You will have direct impact on top and bottom lines with the ability to deliver improvements for our teams. You will be part of a growing, fast paced, and fun team. You will have ownership for the implementation of your work and you will see direct business improvements based on the results of your work.
