To accomplish this, we work with Amazon organizations to build security best practices into enterprise-wide systems.
Amazon Security is looking for a Data Protection Specialist to work across Regulation Tech and Assurance and our broader Security organization to lead the automation and scaling of data security classification — providing comprehensive visibility into what data exists and where, without manual burden. This role owns the implementation of a formal attribute structure that expands beyond security classification to provide richer context for downstream protection controls and tooling. The role also serves as the subject matter expert for classification guidance, supporting customers while driving the automated workflows that reduce manual dependency. In this Data Protection Specialist role, you will work with cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical key stakeholders to define and operationalize strategy and interpret, communicate, and drive full lifecycle security projects.

- Serve as subject matter expert for security classification, supporting customers through consultation
- Work cross-functionally with product and tech partners to evolve the data attribute catalog to improve customer experience and meet desired end outcomes;
- Monitor classification accuracy and catalog quality, driving continuous improvement through science model feedback and customer insights;
- Proactively identify and resolve challenges and issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, business, and technical goals;
- Understand Business Information Security Risk and provide insights for resource prioritization;
- Understand and manage cross-functional requirements to translate them into an optimal solution. Be comfortable with hands-on day-to-day problem solving and implementing quick and effective action plans to meet short- and long-term priorities.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
