SAP ABAP and BTP Developer, Accounting Transformation Group

You will work across SAP S/4HANA and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), developing scalable applications, extensions, integrations, and intelligent solutions that address complex business requirements while adhering to clean-core and cloud-first architecture principles.
We are seeking an experienced SAP Developer with strong hands-on expertise across SAP BTP, ABAP, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, RAP, and CAP to join our SAP implementation team. This role will be responsible for designing and developing custom applications, extensions, APIs, integrations, and user experiences across SAP S/4HANA and BTP.
The ideal candidate combines deep SAP backend development experience with modern cloud-native SAP development capabilities. The role places particular emphasis on BTP-based application development, side-by-side extensibility, clean-core principles, API-led integration, and intelligent application scenarios, while maintaining strong proficiency in ABAP and S/4HANA development.
You will work closely with functional consultants, solution architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, maintainable technical solutions.

Key job responsibilities
• Analyze business requirements, specifications, and designs to build SAP BTP and ABAP solutions.
• Develop ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, APIs, and backend services.
• Create and maintain modern user interfaces using SAP Fiori and SAPUI5.
• Collaborate with functional consultants and business analysts on technical solution design.
• Develop, enhance, and support custom Fiori applications and responsive SAPUI5 interfaces.
• Integrate ABAP, Fiori, BTP services, SAP modules, and external systems as needed.
• Utilize SAP BTP services including BAS, HANA Cloud, RAP, CAP, Integration Suite, Workflow, Event Mesh, AI Core, AI Launchpad, and Generative AI Hub to build clean-core, intelligent solutions.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Provide technical guidance on ABAP, BTP, Fiori/UI5, RAP, CAP, and AI-enabled development.
• Document custom code, interfaces, APIs, and technical solutions for support and maintenance.

A day in the life
You will work closely with SAP functional consultants, architects, product managers, and business teams to design and build solutions across SAP S/4HANA and BTP. Your day may include developing ABAP, Fiori, RAP, CAP, APIs, or BTP extensions, reviewing technical designs, troubleshooting issues, and supporting testing and deployment. You will help determine the right technical approach for each requirement, balancing business needs with SAP standard functionality, clean-core principles, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective
- Knowledge of agile development and best coding practices including peer code reviews, and unit testing
- Experience implementing and managing SAP ERP solutions, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs, SAP applications, and BTP-based solutions.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
