As a Software Engineer on our team, you will play a crucial role in building solutions for publisher onboarding, ensure publisher quality verification, and provide comprehensive revenue and quality reports. Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. Responsibilities
  • Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.
  • Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
  • Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
  • Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.
  • Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience building and operating reliable, scalable services and platforms.
  • Experience designing and operating production-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies and AI-powered development tools to build intelligent applications and improve engineering productivity.
  • Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity.
  • Hands-on mindset with a passion for learning new technologies, including emerging AI and cloud-based solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and familiarity with its suite of tools for effective collaboration and delivery
  • Familiarity with distributed systems ,event driven architectures and Azure cloud.
  • Excellent coding skills, solid in OOPS, OOAD, design patterns and their application.
  • Solid understanding of Azure cloud platforms, services, and architecture.
  • Ability to both work independently and coordinate across geographies.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts to a variety of cross-group stakeholders.
  • Solid organization skills, a bias for action, and ability to deliver results.
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and drive for clarity.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
