About the Team

OpenAI's Industrial Compute organization is building the world's most advanced AI infrastructure ecosystem. In partnership with leading cloud providers, hardware manufacturers, utilities, construction partners, and internal engineering organizations, we are delivering hyperscale AI campuses that power the next generation of frontier AI models.

Infrastructure Delivery Operations sits at the center of this effort. Our team develops the operating model that connects infrastructure strategy, supply planning, manufacturing operations, and delivery into a single, integrated system that enables OpenAI to deploy AI infrastructure predictably at scale.

We partner across Hardware Engineering, Network Engineering, Capacity Delivery, Hardware Operations, Security, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, and external infrastructure partners to create a single, integrated view of program health. Through governance, operational analytics, executive reporting, and scalable operating mechanisms, we enable leaders to proactively manage risk, optimize capacity, and deliver infrastructure predictably at Industrial Compute speed.

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Program Manager, Infrastructure Delivery Operations to drive integrated strategy and delivery across OpenAI's rapidly expanding AI infrastructure portfolio.

This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure strategy, New Product Introduction (NPI), supply planning, manufacturing operations, and infrastructure delivery. You will lead highly cross-functional programs spanning engineering, supply planning, manufacturing, logistics, construction, commissioning, and operations, ensuring technical and operational dependencies remain synchronized from planning through production readiness.

Beyond driving program execution, you will leverage operational insights to improve capacity planning, infrastructure strategy, and deployment readiness. You will also help operationalize new technologies and suppliers by partnering with Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, and Supply Chain to successfully transition new infrastructure platforms into production.

Success in this role requires exceptional program management, systems thinking, executive communication, and the ability to translate complex technical and operational information into clear decisions and scalable operating mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale AI infrastructure programs from early planning through operational handoff.

  • Analyze infrastructure capacity, manufacturing capability, and supply availability to develop strategic recommendations that inform supply planning, deployment sequencing, and infrastructure investment decisions.

  • Partner with Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, and Supply Chain to operationalize New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring new technologies, suppliers, and infrastructure platforms transition successfully into production and deployment.

  • Develop and maintain integrated program plans that align engineering, manufacturing, logistics, construction, commissioning, and operations into a single source of truth.

  • Proactively manage dependencies, critical path, execution risks, and recovery plans across internal teams and external infrastructure partners.

  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to assess production readiness, manufacturing performance, logistics, and deployment readiness while proactively identifying operational risks.

  • Design governance models, operating mechanisms, dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting that improve visibility, predictability, and data-driven decision making.

  • Translate complex technical, operational, and business challenges into concise executive communications, strategic recommendations, and actionable decisions.

  • Continuously improve Infrastructure Delivery Operations' operating model, planning processes, and delivery methodologies to support OpenAI's rapidly expanding infrastructure portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years leading complex technical programs, infrastructure delivery initiatives, or large-scale operational programs.

  • Experience leading highly cross-functional programs spanning engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, construction, infrastructure operations, or New Product Introduction (NPI).

  • Strong understanding of integrated program management, dependency management, critical-path planning, and risk mitigation.

  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems, including critical power and cooling equipment commonly deployed within hyperscale data centers (e.g., switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, cooling systems, and related infrastructure).

  • Experience supporting supply planning, manufacturing operations, supply chain operations, or deployment planning for complex infrastructure programs.

  • Experience developing executive dashboards, governance mechanisms, operational KPIs, forecasting models, and scalable program management frameworks.

  • Strong systems-thinking and analytical skills with the ability to connect technical, operational, manufacturing, and business dependencies across complex infrastructure programs.

  • Experience influencing senior technical and business stakeholders without direct organizational authority.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to executive audiences.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent, high-priority programs in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience delivering hyperscale AI infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, or other large-scale industrial infrastructure programs.

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), product industrialization, production ramp, or operational readiness for hardware or infrastructure systems.

  • Experience working with OEMs, suppliers, manufacturing partners, EPCs, utilities, cloud providers, developers, or other external infrastructure partners.

  • Experience coordinating engineering development through manufacturing, supply planning, logistics, construction, commissioning, and operational deployment.

  • Experience developing governance frameworks, operational analytics, executive reporting, and scalable operating mechanisms within rapidly growing organizations.

  • PMP, PgMP, Agile, or equivalent program management certifications are a plus but not required.
