Original job description

Content provided by the employer

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The Design Verification Engineer will be a member of the Avionics team, focusing on the design verification of the various electrical functions of high-performance communication systems.
You will ensure proper data collection, reviews, and demonstrate the system requirement verification.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing Test SW (Python scripts) to test proprietary hardware. These scripts will interact with standard lab test equipment, execute automated functional checkout tests, analyze pass/fail criteria, and generate comprehensive test reports.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary avionics design team and work closely with PCBA design engineers, harness engineers, FPGA and embedded SW developers as well as system and integration engineers.

This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging opportunity to work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. You’ll have relentlessly high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you’ll be constantly looking for ways to improve.

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for an engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively.

Automated Functional Testing: Develop test sequences that can perform automated functional checkout tests on proprietary hardware to ensure reliability and performance.

Data Analysis: Implement algorithms to analyze test data, compare results against predefined pass/fail criteria, and provide insights into the hardware's performance.

Report Generation: Generate detailed test reports that summarize test results, including pass/fail status, and provide valuable information for the broader team.

In this role, you will conduct test readiness reviews and align with various stakeholders on data review activities

Expect to work with a team of top-notch engineers and influence overall test strategy by helping define system test requirements

You should be comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before.
You are expected to maintain requirements traceability during testing and solve integration and test problems in real time.
If this sounds like the role for you, come make history with us!

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

A day in the life
You will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. In this role, you will be a member of the Hardware Test, Verification, and Validation Team with responsibilities for developing hardware tests and test automation for validation of various avionics systems. This is a cross-functional role requiring constant interaction with multiple HW/SW design teams and end-users.
