Amazon seeks a self-motivated and high-judgment communications professional to join its U.S. Policy Communications and External Affairs team. This role will drive communications efforts in our data center regions across the US, helping raise awareness among key media, third-party partners, and local policy stakeholders about Amazon’s policy priorities, advocacy initiatives, and positive impact on communities, customers, and industries.

The ideal candidate has strong media relations and strategic communications experience. They excel at translating complex technology concepts into clear, compelling narratives, and bring a background in supporting public policy initiatives. They will have a proven track record of working effectively internally across complex, cross-functional teams and externally with policymakers and journalists. The right candidate has excellent writing skills, experience driving proactive communications campaigns, the ability to manage reactive communications and complex narratives as they arise, and a history of utilizing good judgement in high pressure situations.

This position is based in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA and will require periodic travel.




Key job responsibilities

• Work closely with Amazon's Infrastructure, Public Policy and Economic Development teams to drive awareness of Amazon's advocacy objectives and positive impact on customers, industries, and the communities where we operate

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
