We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer with exposure to AWS tools and services to help architect advanced test infrastructure. Our team is responsible for core infrastructure and tools that will serve as the backbone for automated satellite testing operations to enable rapid scaling of manufacturing processes.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
- Understand functional principles of Kuiper satellite hardware, software and all backend services that enable the operation of our constellation.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the definition, development and implementation of test solutions for integrated satellite hardware and software in an ambiguous and complex problem space.
- Build software solutions to manage infrastructure needed to operate our system in development and production environments.
- Build software solutions to manage infrastructure needed to operate our system at large scale.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to define and implement system architectures for integrated test venues.
- Lead technical roadmap definition efforts and decide what features and performance improvements to build.
- Design and develop complex test sequences that coordinate and synchronize equipment and services across multiple layers to verify function and performance of satellite hardware and software.
- Instill best practices for software development documentation, making sure designs meet requirements, delivering high quality software on tight schedules.

As a Project Kuiper Software Development Engineer you will own the development, implementation and test of software for Kuiper integrated vehicle test venues. You will work with engineering teams across ground and space systems, to develop an integrated solution to test fully assembled satellite vehicles and ensure readiness for launch operations. You will be focused on driving automation and optimization of test processes.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
