Senior Software Engineer, AWS Container Registry

Amazon Elastic Container Registry (Amazon ECR) is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) to help build and extend our container registry. ECR is at the heart of most containerized applications and workflows that run on AWS, so it has to be fast, scalable, and secure. As more companies switch to containers to improve their speed of delivery, they look to ECR for easy-to-use tools, and we continue to grow the ecosystem of SDLC tools and security features that our customers use on a daily basis. In addition, we are working on exciting technical problems such as how to dramatically reduce the time it takes to launch a container within AWS as well as tackle challenging problems in scaling our services to match our growing customer demands. If you are someone who is energized by ambiguity, cares deeply about customers and the developer experience, and wants to influence how developers use containers at scale, this job is for you. You will be joining a team with the charter to make containers the new compute primitive and the first choice when architecting modern applications.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
