Original job description

Content provided by the employer

Amazon is building one of the world's most advanced delivery fleets — and we're looking for a senior finance leader to help shape the financial strategy behind it. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role at the heart of one of Amazon's fastest-evolving operations.

As Senior Finance Manager you will lead the financial backbone of Amazon's Global Fleet & Product organization — owning the planning, reporting, and controllership mechanisms that guide multi-billion dollar investments across 19 countries. You will lead a team of finance professionals supporting business leaders, and serve as the connective tissue between finance, operations, engineering, and sustainability across Middle Mile and Last Mile fleets.

This role is for a strategic operator and people leader who thrives in ambiguity, brings rigor to one-way-door capital decisions, and sees financial controllership as a strategic advantage rather than a back-office function.

Why you'll love this role:
- Direct ownership of WW financial planning, reporting, and controls for one of the largest fleets on earth leading EV transition delivering billions of carbon-free packages annually
- Lead and develop a team of high-caliber finance professionals at the center of Amazon's transportation network
- Influence one-way-door capital and operating decisions that shape Amazon's long-term delivery economics
- Cross-functional partnership with senior operations, Engineering, Procurement, Data Science, and Sustainability leaders
- Deep involvement in consequential strategic shifts — fleet electrification at scale and finance automation

Key job responsibilities
- Own WW financial planning and reporting for multi-billion dollar budgets including operating plans, forecasts, monthly close, variance analysis, and long-range financial outlooks
- Lead, develop, and scale a team of finance professionals; raise the talent bar and build succession depth across Middle Mile and Last Mile coverage
- Own controllership for the WW fleet, including execution and continuous improvement of SOX and Amazon internal controls that drive accuracy in corporate financial reporting
- Connect financial plans across regions, business lines, and asset categories to surface risks, opportunities, and trade-offs that influence procurement, allocation, maintenance, sale, and utilization decisions
- Partner with senior operations and finance leaders to shape one-way-door capital investments and ensure capital commitments translate into measurable financial outcomes
- Lead the invention of standardized, automated reporting and planning mechanisms that scale with a rapidly growing and continuously evolving fleet
- Communicate complex financial topics with clarity to business executives in weekly and monthly business reviews

A day in the life
In this role, you sit at the financial center of one of Amazon's largest physical operations. Your primary stakeholders are senior WW Middle Mile and Last Mile fleet leaders, and your value is in turning a fast-moving asset base into a clear strategic and financial picture leadership can act on.

A typical day might include:
- Coaching and developing your team of finance managers and analysts — unblocking analyses, raising the bar on storytelling, and growing the next generation of fleet finance leaders
- Reviewing variance drivers across Middle Mile and Last Mile fleet and translating them into forward-looking risks, opportunities, and recommendations for senior leaders
- Preparing executive narratives for monthly and weekly business reviews that distill a complex, multi-region operation into clear strategic recommendations

The problems you'll solve are strategic in nature — how to fund the right mix of fleet assets across competing priorities, and how to make sure every major investment in Amazon's fleet is grounded in rigorous, forward-looking analysis.

About the team
The Global Fleet & Product Finance team is on a mission to build a world-class finance organization through proactive business partnerships, rigorous controllership, and data-driven insights. We are a high-performing team that values diversity of thought, work-life harmony, and the development of our people. We move fast, think big, and hold ourselves to high standards — while genuinely investing in each other's growth. If you're energized by complex problems, meaningful work, and a team culture that pushes you to be your best, you'll fit right in.
