Application deadline: Aug 20, 2026

Are you passionate about building the infrastructure that powers the cloud? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Technical Program Manager II to help deliver the fiber network that connects the world to AWS services. In this role, you'll bridge technology and business by collecting requirements from internal customers and driving software projects from concept to completion. You'll manage contractor teams working in Salesforce environments while collaborating with engineers, product managers, and operations teams to build tools that design, construct, and deliver AWS's fiber network infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on how AWS builds and scales its global network. You'll work at the intersection of program management, vendor coordination, and stakeholder engagement—ensuring that the software systems enabling fiber network design and construction projects meet the evolving needs of teams across AWS.

Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders to collect, document, and translate business requirements into technical specifications that drive software development and project delivery
- Manage contractor teams working in Salesforce environments by setting clear expectations, tracking progress against milestones, and holding vendors accountable for quality deliverables
- Drive cross-functional alignment by facilitating communication between engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure projects move from design through successful deployment
- Manage project schedules and priorities across multiple initiatives, proactively identifying risks, clearing blockers, and making trade-offs between time, quality, and resources to meet program goals
- Create clear documentation and communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders across the organization, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the program lifecycle

A day in the life
Your day involves dynamic collaboration across teams. You'll start by reviewing contractor deliverables and providing feedback on requirements documentation. Throughout the day, you'll hold working sessions with stakeholders to clarify needs for upcoming features in the fiber network design tools, answer technical questions from engineering teams, and track progress on active construction project workflows. You'll communicate updates to leadership, facilitate decision-making sessions when priorities conflict, and ensure your contractor team stays aligned with project timelines. You'll also carve out time to mentor peers and contribute to process improvements that make future projects run more smoothly.

About the team

From planning and designing fiber routes to managing construction projects and delivering fiber for service, our tools support the entire lifecycle of network deployment. We foster a collaborative environment where program managers, engineers, and operations specialists work together to solve complex technical and logistical challenges.
