Who we are looking for
The Vice President, Finance Transformation Lead is a hands-on, process- and data-oriented role that turns Finance transformation priorities into facts, analysis, recommendations and decisions.
The VP supports the full Finance transformation portfolio: analyzing data, solving problems, bringing in industry benchmarks, providing program management support, leading the reduction of high-risk spreadsheet-based end-user developed tools (EUDTs) and manual processes, and preparing leadership meetings and presentations.
Finance Transformation is not a centralized delivery or solution-design organization. Business and delivery teams remain accountable for execution and outcomes. The VP keeps the portfolio moving by building facts from the data, surfacing decisions early and following up persistently until commitments are delivered, in close partnership with the other DART pillars.
The VP uses AI hands-on every day to pull facts together, accelerate analysis, produce high-quality materials and tell a clear story to both executives and the teams executing the work.
What you will be responsible for
Process Insight & Data Analysis
- Analyze existing Finance and Treasury process inventories to identify inefficiencies, manual touchpoints, spreadsheet-based EUDTs, control gaps and opportunities to simplify, standardize or automate.
- Pull data directly from source systems, reports and process-mining outputs to baseline volumes, effort, cycle times, errors and cost.
- Perform root-cause analysis and reconcile findings to source so they withstand senior and control-function scrutiny.
Business Cases & Value Measurement
- Quantify opportunities and build business cases with sponsors, with documented assumptions, benefits, costs, risks and control considerations.
- Define KPIs before delivery starts and measure realized benefits and adoption against baseline using actual data.
- Partner with the CFO organization to track budget, actuals and total cost of ownership at the solution and initiative level, so cost can be measured against value.
Portfolio & Governance Cadence
- Operate intake and prioritization, and maintain the single portfolio view of investments, commitments, benefits, risks and dependencies.
- Run the governance cadence: prepare decision papers, record decisions and track actions to closure.
- Check new demand against existing enterprise capabilities, and prepare fact-based requirements and scoring for partner evaluations through the Sourcing process.
Program Management Support
- Provide program management support across portfolio initiatives: integrated plans, milestones, RAID logs and status reporting, applied consistently with portfolio standards.
- Track milestones and dependencies across initiatives and the other DART pillars, surfacing slippage and risks early.
- Follow up persistently with initiative owners to secure inputs, decisions and deliverables, escalating constructively when commitments slip.
EUDT & Manual Process Reduction
- Lead the program end to end, maintaining a complete inventory of spreadsheet-based EUDTs and manual activities with owners, volumes, effort, criticality and risk, in line with firm EUDT policy.
- Do the hands-on analysis: assess spreadsheet complexity, usage, data sources, linkages and control dependencies, and quantify the effort and risk each one carries.
- Decide where to eliminate, standardize, automate or migrate work to strategic platforms and certified data, and where a well-controlled EUDT remains fit for purpose.
- Set reduction targets with owners and track them to closure; remediation is built by process, tool and platform owners.
Problem Solving & Industry Insight
- Break down complex, ambiguous problems with hypothesis-driven analysis to reach clear recommendations, options and trade-offs.
- Monitor industry trends and benchmark Finance processes, costs and performance against peers to set targets and sharpen recommendations.
- Respond quickly and accurately to ad hoc analysis requests from transformation leadership.
Leadership Meetings, Presentations & Storytelling
- Prepare transformation leadership and governance meetings end to end: agendas, pre-reads, decision papers, minutes and action logs.
- Build executive presentations, status reports, briefing notes and talking points with a crisp message, supporting evidence and the decision required.
- Tailor the story: decisions, trade-offs and value for executives; priorities and next steps for the teams executing the work.
- Use AI to accelerate analysis, research and materials, validating every output in line with firm AI policies and controls.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- 6–10 years of experience in Finance transformation, process improvement, analytics or management consulting within a large, complex organization.
- Working knowledge of Finance and Treasury processes, data and controls.
- Proven ability to analyze process inventories and data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities, with a track record of turning insight into measurable improvement.
- Strong hands-on data analysis: advanced Excel plus SQL and/or Power BI or Tableau, working with large, imperfect datasets.
- Ability to build baselines and defensible benefit and total-cost-of-ownership models.
- Proven program management skills: planning, milestones, RAID management and status reporting.
- Structured problem solving, with the ability to use industry trends and benchmarks to inform recommendations.
- Excellent executive presentation and storytelling skills, with advanced PowerPoint and hands-on AI fluency.
- Exceptionally organized, with persistent follow-up, the ability to hold people to commitments without direct authority and strong partnerships across the DART pillars.
Preferred
- Experience with process mining tools or EUDT remediation and automation programs.
- Lean, Six Sigma or PMP certification.
- Python, R or similar for data analysis.
- CPA, CA, MBA or equivalent, or consulting transformation background
