The opportunity
Adobe's 3D & Immersive organization is building the web platform that turns 3D content into real business outcomes: digital twins for ecommerce, marketing-ready renders, and interactive 3D experiences on the web. We're looking for a senior full-stack engineer to build the interfaces, APIs, and distributed services that make all of that work at scale, for enterprise customers and for other teams across Adobe.
3D is the domain, but at its core this is a web platform and distributed systems job. You will own things end to end: the customer-facing UI, the APIs behind it, the data it persists, and the cloud infrastructure that runs it. One week you are shaping a customer-facing web experience, the next you are hardening the service and pipeline that deliver it in production. If you would rather own an outcome than be handed a task, this is that job.
What you'll do
- Build and deploy web interfaces, pipelines, and APIs at scale that let enterprise customers and internal teams compose, transform, review, render, and deliver high-quality 3D and digital-twin content for ecommerce and the web.
- Stand up durable, distributed web services on Kubernetes and AWS, with real monitoring, so what you prototype becomes something the business can rely on.
- Own features end to end across the stack: customer-facing UX/UI, APIs, persistence, and the distributed systems behind them.
- Build and run CI/CD pipelines for internal development teams and customer-facing systems.
- Work with customers, partner engineering teams, and leadership to turn real-world requirements into scoped, buildable work, and translate technical tradeoffs back into terms product and leadership can act on.
- Join our multi-functional team of frontend, backend, and DevOps engineers based in the San Jose area, and help raise the bar on the platform.
What you need to succeed
We care about range and ownership more than a checklist. A strong candidate will have most of the following:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Full-stack range: you can design a system, build it across the stack, deploy it, and operate it. You are comfortable owning UI, APIs, persistence, and distributed systems, not just one slice.
- Scale and distributed systems: a track record of building and supporting web services at scale, with an eye for durability, performance, and observability.
- DevOps and delivery: Docker, CI/CD (Jenkins or similar), Kubernetes, and a major cloud platform (AWS primarily; Azure or GCP a plus), with meaningful monitoring.
- Languages: strong TypeScript and Node.js with React. Comfort in another backend language (Go, Java, Python, or similar) is a plus.
- Frontend depth: extensible, customer-facing UI/UX built with React, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern CSS layout.
- Collaboration: you communicate technical ideas clearly and work well across a multi-functional team.
Bonus points
- Using and building agentic and AI-assisted workflows to stand up prototypes and internal tooling fast, not just talking about them.
- Internal developer tooling that other engineers actually adopted.
- 3D on the web (WebGL/WebGPU, three.js or Babylon.js) or real-time interactive rendering.
- 3D interchange formats and pipelines (USD/OpenUSD, glTF/GLB), or 3D capture, photogrammetry, or Gaussian-splat pipelines.
- Multi-cloud experience (Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
Who tends to thrive here
The person in this role treats delivery speed and system health as things to ship, not chores. They are as comfortable in a design discussion as in a production incident, and they turn conversations into working software instead of documents. If you are a builder who likes the seam between platform and product, and you want to help define where enterprise 3D on the web goes next, you will fit.
