What would you do? • The Associate, Material Master Data is responsible for supporting the creation, modification, extension, and maintenance of material master records in SAP or other ERP systems. The role involves processing master data requests, validating supporting documentation, maintaining data accuracy, and ensuring compliance with defined procedures, quality standards, and service-level agreements (SLAs). • The ideal candidate should have good analytical skills, attention to detail, basic MS Excel knowledge, and a willingness to learn material master data processes and supply chain operations. • • Adhere to the procedures in compliance with Process policies (market specific)
What are we looking for? • 1-3 years of overall experience, with substantial experience in Material Master Data Management operations. • • Graduate in B.Com, BBA, B.Sc., Engineering, or any relevant discipline. • • Freshers or candidates with relevant experience in master data, data management, or back-office operations may apply. • • Exposure to SAP MM, SAP MDG, or any ERP system. • • Experience in master data creation, validation, or maintenance. • • Basic understanding of material types, material descriptions, units of measure, and material groups. • • Familiarity with data validation, duplicate checks, and documentation • • Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook. • • Good data-entry skills and attention to detail. • • Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities. • • Good written and verbal communication skills. • • Ability to follow defined procedures and meet daily productivity and quality targets. • • Willingness to learn SAP, material master data processes, and supply chain concepts.
Roles and Responsibilities: • • Create new material master records based on approved business requests and supporting documentation. • • Modify and maintain existing material master data as per authorized requests. • • Extend material master records to relevant plants, storage locations, purchasing organizations, or sales organizations, as applicable. • • Maintain material descriptions, material groups, base units of measure, and other required material attributes. • • Support material master creation and maintenance for raw materials, finished goods, semi-finished goods, and packaging materials. • • Ensure all mandatory fields are completed accurately before processing requests. • • Data Validation and Quality • • Validate incoming requests for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate approvals. • • Identify missing information, duplicate records, and inconsistencies before creating or modifying material data. • • Follow established SOPs, work instructions, and data governance guidelines. • • Perform self-quality checks to minimize errors, rework, and incorrect master data creation. • • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for audit and tracking purposes. • • Process assigned requests within agreed turnaround times and SLAs. • • Monitor assigned requests and provide timely updates on pending or incomplete cases. • • Follow up with requestors for missing information and clarifications. • • Escalate exceptions, system issues, and complex requests to the SME or team lead. • • Maintain accurate trackers and update request status in the designated workflow tool. • • Maintain daily productivity and transaction reports as required. • • Support backlog monitoring, ageing analysis, and operational reporting. • • Identify recurring errors and communicate improvement opportunities to the team lead. • • Participate in process training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
