Summary
Imagine what you could do here! At Apple, great ideas have a way of becoming great products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. Bring passion and dedication to your job and there's no telling what you could accomplish.
You will play a meaningful role leading the annual Business Planning and Portfolio Prioritization process, Budget and Financial Management, and Vendor and Professional Services Management for the Project Management Office (PMO) in support of Apple’s Operations and IS&T project teams. We are looking for a candidate to lead these efforts across multiple teams, drive improvements and efficiencies, and ultimately guide leaders on where limited resources should be invested to have the greatest return.
Description
The PMO is a supporting function for the Global Operations Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) and IS&T teams. These teams build and maintain the internal tools and systems that are critical dependencies for Apple’s operations including its supply chain, demand planning, retail fulfillment, payments, and reverse logistics processes.
This is a strategic, individual-contributor role at the center of how Ops BPR and IS&T plan, fund, and govern a multi-year, multi-million dollar portfolio — directly shaping where leadership invests limited resources and how that investment is defended to senior executives. You will be a key member of the PMO, and act as the Business Planning and Financial Management lead for the Ops BPR and IS&T teams.
Responsibilities
Business Planning: Lead annual capital planning and multi-year road-mapping for multiple teams, enabling leadership to direct limited resources to the highest-return investments, and representing the org in executive-level presentations.
Portfolio Execution & Efficiency: Own financial reporting from the individual-project level to the full portfolio level, drive budget efficiencies, and manage quarterly resource/cost estimating against forecast.
Financial Systems and Vendor/Contractor Management: Run the end-to-end Vendor/Professional Services process (including the SOW, PR, PO, invoicing workflow), track contractor allocation against approved budget, and validate financial/reporting data before it reaches leadership.
Governance & Executive Reporting: Build the organization’s financial “story” for senior leadership, including budget risk call-outs and business cases for additional funding, with a review process ensuring deliverables are accurate and executive-ready.
Headcount & Requisition Oversight: Manage headcount tracking and new requisition processing in support of the broader portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or relevant field required.
7+ years experience in managing and leading the business planning and portfolio prioritization process for a large, complex organization.
Background in financial management as well as vendor and professional services management.
Deep understanding of project, program and portfolio planning and delivery to the level that they can set standards, propose policy, and mentor others.
Working knowledge of financial/data systems sufficient to validate reporting accuracy.
Proven understanding of end-to-end business processes of a manufacturing business, from sales through the supply chain.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
The ability to bring structure to one’s own work and the work of others.
Exceptional communication skills, verbal, written and presentation.
Strong ability to personally drive large scale initiatives under pressure, with high levels of complexity and ambiguity.
Prior consulting experience with Big 4 Consulting Firms is desirable, but not required.
Experience leading and influencing without authority to drive business impact.
