  • Are passionate about what you do

How You'll Help Our Team Succeed:

Sponsorships, thought leadership and speaking programme

  • Gathers, evaluates and recommends sponsorship and thought-leadership opportunities across Europe (conferences, publications, seminars, collaborations with law firms and industry bodies), assessing each against practice priorities, target accounts and competitor presence.
  • Negotiates sponsorship packages, speaking slots and delegate arrangements with conference organisers and publishers within the agreed budget; secures value beyond the headline package (attendee lists, speaking positions, content placement).
  • Owns the annual European sponsorship calendar and post-event evaluation, reporting attendance, contacts made and follow-up actions completed.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with third-party organisers, publishers and rankings bodies relevant to the European practices and determines the engagement approach for each against practice priorities; supports MarCom on European submissions to Chambers, GCR, Who’s Who Legal and the Concurrences Antitrust Writing Awards.

Events and hospitality

  • Identifies, evaluates and recommends hospitality options for OPMA client entertainment and relationship events; proposes formats, venues and guest lists aligned to account priorities.
  • Manages the European Expert Forum and hospitality events end to end in liaison with the Events team, including venue, invitees, expert briefings, run-of-show and post-event follow-up.
  • Partners with the Events team and EAs to ensure targeted invitations, personal outreach and seating support the relationship objectives for each event.

Account and market intelligence

  • Conducts and interprets research on key European accounts and competitors as it is delivered: identifies patterns in law firm and corporate activity, instructing counsel and expert selection, and converts them into recommended outreach, sponsorship and speaking actions for the Director and OPMA.
  • Leverages InterAction target lists and reporting to plan invitations, outreach and follow-up for European programmes; ensures European activity and relationship data are logged accurately by the consultants and EAs involved.
  • Escalates to the Director any significant competitor or market development that warrant a change of plan.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • Significant experience in marketing and business development that demonstrates increasing capability and responsibility; professional services experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the European legal and disputes market, including how law firms and corporates identify and select expert witnesses and the principal competitors in economic consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating sponsorships, speaking opportunities or vendor contracts and delivering measurable value against budget.
  • Experience managing events or hospitality programmes for senior professional audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to specify a research question precisely, interpret the findings and convert them into concise, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience administering budgets and approving expenditure; comfortable working across multiple currencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in UK English; a working knowledge of a second European language (French, German, Spanish or Italian) is a plus.
  • Proactive, well-organised and able to work with minimal direction; sound judgement on when to decide and when to escalate.
  • The mindset to provide superior service.
  • The ability to commute to our office in London Bridge, to comply with our hybrid work policy of 2-3 days per week in office.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) required. CRM experience required; InterAction strongly preferred.
