Original job description

Content provided by the employer

Lead a frontline team at the heart of Amazon's Operations network — where your leadership moves millions of customer orders every day.

As an Area Manager at our Rancho Cordova, CA site, you own a shift and a team — you'll directly shape how customer orders move safely, accurately, and on time. This isn't a desk job; it's a leadership proving ground where your decisions have same-day impact and your team looks to you to set the tone.

Our Operations network delivers for Amazon customers every day across three major workflows: First Mile (where product is housed and ready for order), Middle Mile (where the order is hauled to your area), and Last Mile (when the product is delivered to the customer's door). All workflows have slight building variations, but one thing is constant: our dedication to the customer.

What you'll gain
You'll run a shift in a fast-paced, high-volume Operations environment — hands-on leadership experience you can't get just anywhere. You'll lead people, drive process improvement, and build operational expertise that's valued across the industry. Expect to sharpen your skills in people leadership, data-driven decision-making, safety and quality management, and continuous improvement — the foundation for a long-term career in Operations.

Why Rancho Cordova, CA?
Rancho Cordova puts you in the Greater Sacramento area — a growing, affordable region with real quality of life. You'll have easy access to Highway 50 and I-80, downtown Sacramento just minutes away, and the Sierra foothills, Lake Tahoe, and Napa wine country all within reach for weekend getaways. Expect sunshine most of the year, access to parks and the American River trails, strong schools, and far more space for your money than the Bay Area. A great fit for families and anyone who wants outdoor adventure close to home.

What you'll do
- Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly team — your leadership is the difference-maker
- Own safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises for your area
- Partner with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to hit business goals
- Drive continuous improvement and solve problems in real time on the floor

Key job responsibilities
