Who we are looking for
We are looking for a highly experienced transformation leader to serve as Vice President, Project Manager for the Onboarding Transformation initiative. This individual will provide the execution leadership required to translate an enterprise vision into an integrated roadmap and deliver coordinated change across business operations, technology, data, risk and controls.
The successful candidate will bring a strong record of leading complex, cross-functional programs in a global and regulated environment. They will be equally comfortable shaping the plan with senior leaders, challenging ambiguity, resolving dependencies and working hands-on with teams to ensure commitments are converted into measurable outcomes.
The individual will bring the mindset and behaviors of an enterprise transformation leader: creating structure, establishing clear ownership, accelerating decisions and maintaining relentless focus on execution. This is not a traditional reporting-focused PMO role. It requires a leader who can connect strategy, operating-model design and implementation across organizational boundaries.
Why this role is important to us
State Street is advancing a strategic transformation of client and account onboarding and the broader lifecycle. The Onboarding Transformation is intended to strengthen how onboarding, ongoing changes and offboarding are managed as one connected capability and establishing how that capability is organized, governed, funded and delivered across the enterprise.
By bringing together strategic intent and disciplined execution, the VP, Project Manager role will help ensure the program is:
- Organized around a clear North Star, defined scope and measurable business outcomes
- Executed through one integrated roadmap across operations, product, technology, data and controls
- Governed through transparent ownership, decision rights and effective escalation
- Focused on improved client experience, reduced handoffs, lower operational risk and greater efficiency
- Mobilized as an enduring enterprise capability rather than a series of disconnected projects
This role exists to provide the structure, pace and cross-functional orchestration needed to move from target-state design into implementation. Working closely with the accountable executive sponsor and senior workstream leaders, the role will provide day-to-day leadership, direction and accountability across the transformation.
What we value
We value leaders who:
- Bring significant experience delivering complex, enterprise-wide transformation programs
- Think end-to-end across the client and account lifecycle rather than within functional silos
- Operate with an enterprise mindset and are effective in highly matrixed organizations
- Create clarity from ambiguity and convert strategy into owners, milestones and decisions
- Balance executive-level perspective with hands-on execution discipline
- Influence senior stakeholders credibly and challenge constructively when progress is at risk
- Use data, evidence and measurable outcomes to drive priorities and assess progress
- Integrate process, technology, data, controls and organizational change into one delivery approach
- Build sustainable governance and operating rhythms without creating unnecessary bureaucracy

- Drive workstreams from definition through implementation, adoption and benefits realization
- Maintain a single view of progress and ensure material issues are surfaced early with clear resolution paths
Operating model and cross-functional orchestration
- Coordinate target operating model design across onboarding, ongoing lifecycle changes and offboarding
- Help define roles, accountabilities, decision rights, governance and handoffs across organizational boundaries
- Connect activities across Operations, Client Service, Product, Technology, Data, Risk, Compliance and Finance
- Identify overlaps, gaps and competing priorities across existing initiatives and drive their resolution
- Facilitate definition of the initiative North Star, platform boundaries, blueprint, MVP and measurable OKRs
Delivery governance and executive management
- Establish practical governance and operating rhythms across the workstreams
- Prepare concise, decision-oriented executive reporting on progress, outcomes, risks, dependencies, investment and resource requirements
- Lead working sessions and governance forums that result in clear decisions, owners and deadlines
- Track decisions through implementation and hold workstream leaders accountable for delivery commitments
- Escalate material risks and dependencies with clear options and recommended actions
Process, data, technology and controls
- Coordinate end-to-end process redesign spanning client request, onboarding, account changes and offboarding
- Partner with business and technology teams on integrated workflow, authoritative client and account data, automation and AI-enabled opportunities
- Ensure preventative and detective controls are embedded in the target process and supporting technology
- Coordinate business readiness, migration, adoption and transition into the future-state operating model
- Ensure transformation delivery strengthens control effectiveness while simplifying the client and employee experience
Outcomes and benefits realization
- Define baselines, success measures and OKRs for the transformation
- Track outcomes such as onboarding cycle time, handoffs, manual activity, data quality, control effectiveness, client experience and operational efficiency

- Keep the program focused on adoption and sustained business outcomes, not only completion of project milestones ·
