Title and Summary

Director, Core Payments VAS Commercialization & Planning

Overview

Across EEMEA, Mastercard is accelerating the adoption and commercialization of Core Payments value-added services across Consumer Products, Digital, Gateway and Acceptance, and Network Solutions. Delivering this ambition requires a consistent execution model that connects strategy, commercial targets, pipeline, investments and market delivery.

As Director, Core Payments VAS Commercialization & Planning, your primary mandate will be to create and actively manage a robust commercial pipeline across all Core Payments verticals, consolidate the region’s biggest opportunities and strategic bets, work closely with CSC sales teams across divisions to support and drive must-win deals, and help accelerate commercialization of market-moving initiatives across EEMEA.

You will work closely with Product teams across Consumer, Digital, Gateway and Acceptance, and Network Solutions, CSC sales teams, Finance, Strategy, and Pricing teams to identify priority opportunities, sharpen deal execution plans, remove commercial barriers, orchestrate available Product Innovation Funds and Market Funds, and ensure investments and resources are channeled toward the largest opportunities with the highest market and revenue impact.

Role

In this regional role, you will:

• Create and actively manage a consolidated commercial pipeline across Consumer Products, Digital, Gateway and Acceptance, and Network Solutions, with clear visibility on major opportunities, ownership, value potential, required investments and expected timing.
• Partner with CSC sales teams across divisions to identify, shape and drive support for must-win Core Payments deals, ensuring the right product, pricing, investment and execution support is mobilized behind the highest-value opportunities.
• Consolidate the region’s biggest opportunities and strategic bets, helping leadership prioritize where Core Payments can create the greatest market impact, revenue acceleration and competitive differentiation.
• Ensure investments, resources and leadership attention are channeled toward the largest and most strategic opportunities, balancing revenue potential, market impact, readiness and execution urgency.
• Maintain visibility of available Product Innovation Funds and Market Funds, and orchestrate practical plans with product and CSC sales teams to drive higher Core Payments penetration in priority markets and customer segments.
• Support the quarterly Core Payments budget-planning process with Finance, product verticals and customer-facing teams.
• Track progress of priority initiatives, must-win deals and big bets against agreed milestones, surfacing risks, blockers and required interventions to improve execution speed.
• Develop practical dashboards, scorecards and management updates covering pipeline quality, must-win deal progress, commercialization milestones, investment allocation, budgets, KPIs, funding and deal performance.
• Share execution best practices across divisions and product verticals, improving consistency and commercial effectiveness.

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position:

• Has strong experience in payments, financial services, product commercialization, sales strategy, commercial planning, finance or a related growth-focused function.
• Has a good understanding of value-added services and the role they play in strengthening customer value, differentiation and payment economics.
• Demonstrates experience managing commercial pipelines, large sales opportunities, revenue forecasts, investment plans, budgets or performance-governance processes.
• Brings strong commercial judgment and can translate pipeline, deal and investment data into clear priorities, actions and executive-level messages.
• Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Is highly organized and capable of managing multiple workstreams, stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously.
• Can build productive relationships with CSC sales teams, product verticals, Finance, Strategy, Pricing and market teams in a complex matrix organization.
• Demonstrates the confidence to challenge inputs, shape must-win deal plans, follow up on commitments and escalate execution risks when necessary.
• Understands how to prioritize and deploy commercial investments, including innovation or market-development funds, toward opportunities with the strongest penetration, revenue and strategic impact.
• Is a strong writer and presenter who can communicate effectively with both operational and senior audiences.
• Brings a proactive mindset, strong work ethic and high sense of ownership.
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and some degree of ambiguity.
• Has advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM, pipeline-management, reporting or visualization tools is an advantage.
• Holds a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
