The AI Economy team at Microsoft is building the infrastructure that powers how organizations ground, deploy, and scale AI applications. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead go-to-market strategy for a high-growth AI product area..

As a Principal Product Manager, you will work across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Business Development, Data Science, Finance, and Legal to bring new AI capabilities to customers and partners. You will help shape customer segmentation, adoption strategy, launch readiness, field enablement, customer feedback loops, and business performance tracking.

This is a highly cross-functional role for a product leader who can operate in ambiguity, translate customer and market signals into clear execution plans, and drive measurable and scaleable business outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead go-to-market strategy for a high-growth AI product area, including customer segmentation, launch planning, adoption strategy, and business performance tracking.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Business Development, Finance, Legal, and Data Science to bring new AI capabilities to market.
  • Translate customer needs, market insights, and business goals into clear product and go-to-market priorities.
  • Develop field enablement materials, customer-facing narratives, launch plans, and executive-ready business updates.
  • Define success metrics and operating rhythms to track adoption, customer engagement, business impact, and areas for improvement.
  • Use data, customer feedback, and market signals to identify blockers, prioritize opportunities, and recommend actions that improve customer outcomes.
  • Drive alignment across teams, resolve ambiguity, and influence stakeholders without always having direct ownership of every dependency.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while maintaining strong execution discipline.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience leading go-to-market, product strategy, commercialization, or growth for cloud, AI, search, data, developer platform, or consumption-based products.
  • Experience bringing new products or capabilities to market and scaling adoption across customers, partners, or field teams.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, customer success, business development, finance, legal, engineering, and data science teams.
  • Understanding of AI platform trends, developer ecosystems, cloud services, search, data products, or related technical domains.
  • Experience translating customer and market signals into product, launch, adoption, and business priorities.
  • Experience defining success metrics, tracking business performance, and using data to guide decisions.
  • Experience creating executive-ready narratives, launch plans, and field guidance and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving environments and drive clarity across multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.


Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.

Product Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $165,600 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
